WazHack reviews

Still, it deserves a recommendation to be inspired by the best video game of all time... without disparaging him. What for? There is one thing that NetHack has for decades and that other games (whether modest or Hollywood) do not have: infinite replayability. It's all here. But to support this, it is not enough to have procedural decorations, still need game mechanics that embrace this goal (as the system of identification of objects of NetHack, rarely recovered in games). And that's what Wazhack does. And that's what I want first of all from a game that pretends to be inspired by the Grand Manitou. Does he do it right? Yes, and no. For the identification system, it is there, nothing to say, it is roughly merdo the same. Procedural maps are there too, but it's not as advanced as NetHack. The choice of the side view of Wazhack does not lend itself as well to procedural variations of the top view of NetHack. It's a NetHack seen by the slice, in 2 dimensions. So we lose the depth (which would be the vertical axis in view of above). It severely limits the possibilities. The inspiration does not stop there. Potions, scrolls, books, chopsticks, alignments of cursed/sacred objects, fountains, traps, pets (dog, cat...), merchants, States (confusion, blindness, etc...), in short, we find many elements of NetHack, often even implemented from similar way. For any purist of NetHack, we will find in Wazhack moult flaws, inevitably. The interface of NetHack notament is very advanced and responds to almost all the requirements without needing a mouse. This has a price: complexity, but it is learned over time. It is far from here and it is not always convenient (with modal Windows rather badly ruined). The aspect "devs think about everything" does not seem to me as successful on the other hand. But there's still not much to throw in Wazhack, provided you give it a chance (i.e., spend a little time there). I do not recommend it warmly, but Wazhack to still deserves the merit of being... different from the mass, and therefore interesting.

Thank you for this update, finally! New classes, new skills, better system of wishes, and still full to discover... What a pleasure to dive back into the Wazhack Dungeon! On a very classical basis of Monster gate-treasure, grafts the richness of the mythical NetHack and a simple but captivating visual universe, for a game experience in my unique and very engaging sense. Wazhack justifies it alone... to learn English!

Fascinating Combination of roguelic elements with 2D physics, which always lead to Surprises (both positive and negative). Getting started is not easy, and you mustn't be frustrated by Failures, you learn to do so and once you reach the Finish after many Hours, the Pride is all the greater before you use a different Class that often requires completely different Tactics , tried again. Because of the many hidden Details, it is also worth reading about the relevant Forums and Wikis on the Internet.

Before embarking on the editorial, I want to clarify that I note the game on its steam version (on PC), unfortunately for me, my iPhone 4S does not allow me to fully enjoy this super rogue like (dropping FPS and screen a little small). So it's wazhack PC that I note and not its App version. Behind its really unappealing graphics hides a punitive RPG, difficult to see even frustrating by some time, but that's where this game is excellent, one learns from its mistakes. Imagine you going down in a Dungeon, all you may find is "cursed"/"neutral"/"enchanted" (weapons, armor, potions, scrolls etc...) Each run, each object, each monster can have a different effect that can often mean death. "Oh an unidentified amulet? Thin no parchment to identify it. Too bad I put it anyway... Arg!!! a cursed strangulation amulet!!! Cannot remove it!!! " This kind of situation can happen often but also in the opposite direction. Oh? A sword? I identify it. What is this sword actually Excalibur? " Thank you WAZ for having developed a game also taking, I spent hundreds of hours and finished only 3-4 times but what a pleasure to venture there again and again to be able to be killed again and again ♥ ️
