What's The Story?

I was inspired by an Extra Credits video to make a game that told a story with minimal game mechanics and art. 'What's The Story?' definitely has a story but it is up to the player to interpret the story. What do the colors mean? Is this based on real life? Is this story linear? What is this game about? How much of this is interpretive vs literal?
