GAME JAM

With Seven Cats was made with two game jams in mind, including:

• The isolation bitsy jam, the March 2020 edition of Adam Le Doux's monthly jams for Bitsy Game Maker
• The Stay Safe! Jam, a weekend event to make the best of sheltering in place by developing games about staying safe

Music is from Seaport Sound; incorporated music thanks to Mark Wonnacott's tool. Also experimented with Bitsy hacks this time, thanks to Andrew Yolland's Bitsy Game Hacker. Think I want to try 3D next month.

INSPIRATION

I wanted to make a Bitsy game about living with seven cats while sheltering in place. I got the idea of walls closing in from the Dark Elf cave in Final Fantasy IV.

We have seven cats, but fortunately, we don't live in a studio apartment. Our kitties have lots of cat trees, poop boxes, scheduled play-times, and a catio.
