Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant reviews and comments

Wow what a Game! I didn't play Wizardry 7 back in 1992 and I was initially speculative because of the Hype or better of the Legend as well as the MischMasch of various Elements (Fantasy, Sci-fi, Far Eastern, Pirates, ...). But is it really a Masterpiece! Why Wizardry 7 is a Masterpiece: 1. Character development The Character Development is very detailed. Everything plays a significant Role, Stats, class, Race, Gender. There are many Ways to develop your Characters individually. Here through, the Replay value is also very high. The Best thing here, however, is that everything is very finely tuned and boned. No Character can carry 3 complete Disk Armor with It without Deductions. You have continuously Levelups, which makes Backtracking, long Journeys or sticking to Puzzles much more enjoyable than in other games where you have 10 Levelups in the first 2-3 Hours and 2 Levelups in the next 10-15. The Magic System is Also excellent. You don't just have a Manapool but 6. Almost every Spell has its Usefulness and all Spells differ from each other. In addition, Mana Points are not so easy to restore. All this leads to a much better Magic System without the Melee and Long-distance Fighter becoming meaningless and in which you don't just throw Fireballs around you. 2. Open living Game world Until today one of the few Dungeon Crawlers with an open Game world. You can really move very freely on the fairly large Map and decide for yourself what you are concerned about first. Also for the Time and even today rarely found, is the lively Game world. Unfortunately, although not by the Representation, which is rather Text-based but is for this in other Areas. The Game consists by and large of different clues to find treasure maps, but not only the Characters search for the Cards, but also different NPCs, which again belong to different Groups. The Whole thing is impressively dynamic. NPCs search for the Cards, the Characters, or take cards from other NPCs, or kill other NPCs. You can trade with You, befriend you or attack them and so on. As a result, no Game runs like the other. In this respect, Time in particular plays a decisive Role. The more Time passes, the More likely the NPCs will find Maps and kill each other. Apart from that, the Characters are ageing too! In addition, the Loot of Chests and opponents is also partly random. 3. Grade The Difficulty level is really well done. The Game is challenging without getting too heavy and remains it comparatively continuous throughout The Season. In addition, you can adjust the Level of Difficulty in the Settings at any time. Finally, in The end, there are even optional Challenges that have it in them. 4. The Story Although you seem to have thrown all sorts of Elements together here, it still radiates brilliantly. The Story is interesting and extensive and there are several Endings and Beginnings. A Warning: The Puzzles in Wizardry 7 are from the last Millennium. That's nothing compared to today's soft-boiled Puzzles. A Guide/Walkthrough is highly recommended otherwise the enormous Playing Time of 80-100 hours increases by 5-10 Times without exaggerating. The Puzzles are cryptic and often only with Hints as well as multi-layered ones. Important Items are not needed in places until 50 Hours later in a completely different Location. The Same applies to one-time Notices from NPCs. Without Help, you should buy a big Notebook and really document everything very well. Even the Appearance or Race Of NPCs play a significant Role in the Puzzles. In Conclusion, I can only recommend Wizardry 7 to real RPG fans for the Prize!
