WRC 6 FIA World Rally Championship reviews

Let a DiRT Rally Fan tell you: WRC 6 is a good Game! And in my Opinion, for many Years the first that is worthy of the WRC license. While my Toenails rolled up At last year's WRC 5, I see a lot of Potential in WRC 6 and see the WRC license at Kylotonn much better received than before at Milestone. WRC 6 is able to convey the rally atmosphere and is, in my View, also a working Overall Package with one or the other not quite so round corner. Career Mode begins in the Junior WRC. There you can play the first Season with a comparatively weak Rally car and work your Way up via new Contract offers to the WRC 2 and later to the WRC. The Game conveys a rather authentic rally feeling at all Corners and Ends, because it is not only the cars and Names of the Drivers that correspond to the Real Model. The Routes also orient themselves on the real Routes and usually affect the respective Character of the individual Countries quite well. This goes so far that striking Parts of the real Stages actually occur. For Example, there is the Hairpin Descent at The End of Col de L 'Orme (Monte Carlo) or the iconic stone Bridges in Argentina. The Stages in the Game are shortened, but still have some quite impressive Lengths of up to 14km. Each of the 14 rally countries is represented with mostly 5 Stages, a total of 67 Tracks are included. Driving Physics is credible from my Point of view. I don't know how a Rally car drives itself on any Surface at the Limit and unlike the Rest of the Steam community, I'm not a professional rally driver. I don't know if driving Physics is realistic. By believable I mean: I can use all but a few Details of my Driving technique and Experience from MANY Hours of Richard Burns Rally and DiRT Rally 1:1 in WRC 6 (PS: I play with Steering Wheel-Thrustmaster T300-no Problems). The Game forgives Mistakes a little better than both other Titles though. Don't Get me wrong, you can also turn down the Slope here, drive against Trees or Road Limits if you cut wrong. But the Car remains longer drivable depending on the chosen Degree of difficulty and you don't drive on after the slightest contact with flat Tyres. Unfortunately, the Game fails to provide the Player with Background Knowledge about the entire rally circus. So neither the Pace Notes are explained, nor do you get a Driving Technology Tutorial (but in this regard I can warmly recommend the Rally School from the ancient Richard Burns Rally). Nor does the Game explain the important Terms. That "WP" means an assessment (SS = Special Stage) may be just as tantamount to tapping into, but those who have had little to do with Rally so far certainly do not know about the "SWP" (Super Special Stage) or the Importance of the "PS" (Power Stage) for Awarding bonus points Know. The Graphics are not at the highest Level, but are still very nice to look at, especially in sunny Conditions. With the Weather Effects (Fog and covered) you can still see clear potential For Improvement, even (spray) Water can not keep up with the Competition. The Cockpits seem a little rogue, but from the outside the Vehicles are very detailed. The Sound of the Vehicles is sufficiently good. There might be a few more Details here and there, but there can be No talk of bad Sound here. One of the weakest Points of the Game is probably the Passenger. While the Pace Notes as such are mostly accurate, sometimes the spoken Instructions come a little too late, simply because the Guy talks so much. However, the Symbols at the top of The Screen are always there in time. The instructions of the Passenger are composed of individual Words, which sounds very mechanical and choppy at first. The occasionally Loudly proclaimed "a fond" (= Full throttle), which many players probably misunderstand as a particularly dangerous "Attention!" It does not quite open up to me why this, as a rather unknown French Term, has made Its Way into the German Pace notes. On the Whole, I am very impressed with WRC 6, because I really Enjoy it and conveys a great Rally atmosphere. So If you can get even a little bit of Fun with Rallying and enjoy DiRT Rally (te), you will also find your Pleasure in WRC 6. It is worth buying just because of the beautiful and recognizable Routes.
