Zero Escape: The Nonary Games reviews

Both of the games have awesome characters, really good thriller and mystery elements involved. Also nice puzzles which make it impossible to put down, I finished both of the games really quickly, which is not usual for me.
My two favorite visual novels of all time at time of writing this. Both of these games tell stories that can only be told in the medium of video games and I would recommend them to anyone even remotely interested.

Having played (and finished at 100%) "999" my assessment is based on this title alone... The scenario is somewhat ambiguous, I strongly encourage you to get all the ends in order to understand what exactly is being discussed. Without being breathtaking from a graphical point of view the artistic paw helps not to stop at this detail. The puzzles are relatively simple but nonetheless interesting enough to solve with a growing difficulty (without ever becoming too complex either), you like the number 9 you are going to be served! The rhythm is supported with an excellent puzzle/discussion dosage, the characters rather endearing in the whole, the atmosphere is oppressive with its moments of breathing so as not to become suffocating. I appreciated the principle of the trees to borrow other paths without starting from the beginning, I regret on the other hand that there is no possibility to pass directly the puzzles already solved during the previous runs. A beautiful discovery as far as I'm concerned.

A pack that combines two games of puzzles and point and click with a long and incredible plot. Although rather, I should say that they are two visual novels with elements of point and click and puzzles, which are combined in a sublime way in a saga that, until now, while it can be repetitive and tedious, ends up being a unique experience. Both games are not current, so don't expect big graphics. In fact, the first (999) has no animations but semi-static drawings, while the second both the characters and the environment are made with 3D graphics plus some static drawings, but the NPC only have animations when referring to the protagonist and not When they interact with the environment, while the protagonist is only seen in static drawings. The music is really good and accompanies perfectly the different moments of the game (narrated novel, interactions, puzzle situations, etc.). The voices are excellent and they are perfectly associated with each character. A voice Is Strange for the protagonist of VLR... The puzzles are good (some are classic in P&C) are not difficult in general but some, especially the finals, can have a good time circling. The game has an option to reduce the difficulty of the same, in which the NPC that accompanies you will give you more clues to solve them, but that will result in that you won't be able to find all the documents and information about the game that it can give. Best of all, no doubt, is the gameplay, the way the puzzles are coupled to the game and the STORY, which is sublime in many points will have you on the edge of the chair, with your mouth open, absorbing information and twists of the plot. Absolutely recommended for those who like visual novels, and also for those who like the P&C. Of course, for the latter, keep in mind that there is more time in "novel" Mode (where history is counted and developed) that in "puzzles" mode. But It is worth it as the result is a rewarding experience.
