About

Zero Point is the first 3D 360 short film created exclusively for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. In the film, we follow the pioneers of virtual reality; the researchers and developers creating an entirely new digital dimension. From combat training simulations at the Department of Defense, to research labs at Stanford, to indie game developers and hackers, this immersive video experience brings viewers into the future of virtual reality. Running time: 15 minutes

Oculus Rift DK-1 or DK-2 is required. Direct Mode is recommended for smoothest playback. For setup instructions and troubleshooting, view the Quick Reference in the right-hand panel.

At the Start I was still totally thrilled, but I was really very sad when I noticed that everything was totally asinkron, and generally just too short. I imagined for the Price that it could be at least an Hour, but it doesn't even take half an Hour ... It would last perfectly if the Video was not played in Slow Motion, but in real time and if it did not last so short.

The best and most professional 360s Video for the Oculus Rift so far. Not particularly spectacular but quite manageable. For the "VR nerd" it is definitely worth buying this first slightly longer "Movie," to everyone else I recommend to watch the Demo first. In my Opinion, a computative VR Experience-but a little too expensive for the Bid. On the other hand, you also invest in the VR Future, which was one of my main Reasons for buying.

First experience with Oculus DK2. I stayed, like most of the user, completely fascinated by this fantastic experience. A perception of the space that I had never experienced so closely. From the wooded landscapes to the prairies populated with animals to the urbanized areas, Zero Point encloses one of the many goodies of this project. I hope that in a reasonable time the definitive hardwre is developed, everyone has to afford to try and let go in the Oculus world.

Nice intro to the wonderful world of VR. Seeing this is a all in the early stages of consumer VR there are some hickups here and there. Sometimes the video is just not completely smooth (not sure if Oculus runtime problem or just filming equipment/montage) and sometimes you notice the stitchlines of the different camera angles. Not sure how this is filmed, but overal a great experience albeit a bit short. I personally bought this on sale. If you have a HMD (I tried this on the DK2 with runtime 0.4.3) you should give this a go.

While The content of this documentary can be scarce, the immersion that is achieved is great. It'S A small preview of all the good things that this 360 3d video technology brings us together with virtual reality. The recorded images have a pretty good quality, although it has trick, because in fixed planes this type of recordings is much more gimmicky and allows to mask many of the errors of stiching that appear when we recorded in motion. It Should be noted that not all the documentary is 360, but that does not diminish quality, since the central focus of the action is always covered, and do not lose relevant information in the panoramic plans, how interviews or the sequence of E3. In Short, a good piece with a somewhat high price, but if not a relevant expense and you are interested in this new way of viewing content, much more immersive than any cinema, I recommend.
