I hate horror, but I do play some on Fridays 13th

I really hate horror genre and I'm not superstitious, but on Friday's 13th, I often feel that urge to show a middle finger to superstition, by watching, reading or playing horror stuff. Usually, I would choose movies over anything else, cause they're shorter and used to tell stories. Recently, as a hater of horror, I rarely find new movies to be at least somewhat scary and match my taste. So I turn to games more often. Here's the spooky stuff I find to be good enough even for those who hates horror.

Not an exceptional game in general, but very special for me. When I was a kid, there was a neighbor. He came back from his high school trip to the Ural mountains, all beaten up. When I asked what happ…

One of my favorite horror games, cause this one is pretty well balanced to engage you as a player — character development, resource management and storytelling is very well built, while the sense of c…

It's all about jump scares, but they are different here, cause you always know when it's coming :D. I'm not even sure if by playing it I'm looking to any sense of completion, I just launch it when I'm…

It's here, just because it's my favorite Silent Hill. The fear here was creeping in for hours, or even for a few days. I felt none for few sessions, but when it came it was strangling and sticky. One …

A marvelous narrated horror game/novel. It's true to all the classical tricks of classical horror. Contains some jump scares, but it's really about building up fear through players relationship with h…

One of those games I want to finish, but it still creeps under my skin. It's not particularly scary, jumps scares I can survive pretty easily here, but the build-up of atmosphere, ambiance, and genera…
