1001 Spikes reviews

1001 spikes is clearly a game that I recommend to all fans of retro platformers. You will find the difficulty, the 8-bit music, the level-design, but also the crealty of the developers and above all, the sense of accomplishment when you finish this damn game! Some points on which I would like to return:-If you are the kind to get angry quickly, this game will give you nightmares. In the past I was very sanguine in front of a game, and lately I'm calmer, but believe me, this game made me push some horror cries in front of some traps and brought out this side of me that I thought passed haha-Yes, some traps are vicious. The whole level is hard, you're happy to be at the end, and BIM, a PIC that comes out of the abyss appears and forces you to recommit the whole level... After pushing a big scream, and if the gamepad (no question of playing keyboard haha) is not dangled by the window-the difficulty knows some peaks, but in the end, there are two-three levels on which I died more than 150 times!! It's really too hard there, not only is it vicious, but it's literally pixel by-last point, the music is really good, but when you die (that is, all the time) the music resumes at the beginning. So we almost always hear the same ball from the beginning, since we die quite early often, and so I finally know the end of the melodies of the game, while the beginning of the music are encres in my head short, a retro hardcore game, I recommend , very nice, with a lot of characters to different gameplays, and ancillary missions (the Tower of nannar for example) really nice too. But a lot of patience is required, and self-control.

1001 spikes is a retro platform game developed by Nicalis, the Studio responsible for the very good remake of TBOI, TBOI: rebirth. The game follows the tribulations of Aban Hawkins, an adventurer set out to explore ancient ruins and recover artifacts, telling each of the stages of his journey by a table full of traps that we will have to cross... How? By taking your gamepad/keyboard, and sitting on a cactus to redirect the pain of your hands to your Foundation:/ Indeed, the retro aspect of the game comes out here in the form of the 1hit = 1kill scheme, and the need to bend to a Cheetah timing under speed in rainy weather. You will also have to play on alternating high and low jumps, each being on a different key... and finally be careful to place yourself at the pixel close, indeed Aban loves his hat so much that he is now part of his body, you are warned ^^ by chance, if you do not feel able to meet this challenge by yourselves, you can invite friends s, all you dress up in leather, and finally finish this damn level... the action is unfortunately often complicated by the presence of several Jokers... but hey, at least you can share your cactus. Add to that alternative game modes, Coop and PvP, and a lot of unlockable characters, which for the most part will change the gameplay and will force you to rediscover the story mode with more ease/difficulty. Good, small recap ': positives:-retro gameplay-artistic direction nice, it remains readable and pleasant to look:)-good soundtrack according to me, several music remained in my head after my sessions-good choice for a couch-party, the gameplay is simple to understand and multi modes are noob-friendly more than the story mode (according to me)-lots of characters offering interesting gameplay variations negative points:-not much to blame for the game, if not its tendency on some levels to " make "difficulty by playing too much on a very (too) perfect timing that changes slightly after each death... pretty annoying to get killed by a perfect pixel jump makes a Milli-second too late after spending 30 seconds waiting for the moving platform... for the 341th time:/ In the end, I can only recommend this game, with a good warning: expect injustice and a lot of rage on some levels, so plan something soft and resistant for sessions more than half an hour... Good luck, over. Kaptain.
