A Light in the Dark
About
──We cannot choose in this unfair world.
Hao-Chen Jiang did not understand what it was when he opened his eyes. Before him was a dim and dreary room that he had not seen before. Trying to get up to turn on the lights, he finds that his arms are tied behind him and that is when he realizes that he's been kidnapped. It is then that a mysterious girl appears before him and with a look of disdain tells him that he's been kidnapped and unless his family agrees to pay a ransom he has no chance to escape. But perhaps there is more to this than just money...
The rich boy stuck in his never changing daily life...
The fierce girl struggling for survival...
Two people in totally opposite positions in life.
During his days of imprisonment, they will learn of a world they were never aware of which will crumble away at their deep-rooted prejudices. In the face of confusion and the choices before them, what will they find...?
A Light in the Dark is an original visual novel game from the creative minds of CreSpirit (Developers of Rabi-Ribi), Storia (Developers of Dong-jin Rice-hime) and Narrator (Developers of Companion).
The game features a story part and an interactive part where Hao-Chen can examine the items around him as he tries to formulate a plan to escape his kidnappers but beware of your stamina! A Light in the Dark also features multiple endings and language options in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.

Well.... This game is a little slap!
Being basic not very fan of Visual novel (in most cases I miss like a dead rat), I still bought this one because being partly developed by the Studio Crespirit, a Studio that I particularly appreciate thanks to their previous game-> Rabi-RIBI.
So let's go back to the game itself, already the artistic style is beautiful, it really made me think of the artistic style of steins; Gate (especially for the characters), even the decorations (the little that there is) do well their taffe.
It's a Visual novel that has choices, and really I had the feeling that each of them had a real more or less strong impact in history. So that's a good point!
The topics discussed are also very interesting:-the social differences between rich and poor, the injustice of life (why I was born poor and the other not?), the big problem of justice-> do we have to punish a poor man because he stole an Apple because he would die from fai m? We are shown that society has some hypocrisy or indifference towards the homeless.
-Of course also, the game also breaks the myths of the rich that we see in the media and in the movies.
Some affluent people have a more quiet and quiet life (they don't have a lot of cars, no big houses etc...). And especially the classic and the effective "money does not make happiness".
The story: for summary we are in Taiwan and son of a boss who owns a very large company and while we were walking in the city, we got kidnapped by a mysterious character. When we wake up, we are in a totally dilated room and in front of us a woman who imposes to do nothing stupid or you are dead, waiting for the ransom. How are you going to get away with this?
I found the story very gripping! I made the game of a milking. The end I obtained was fully satisfactory (with a little tear at the end).
The characters are well developed and each have a very clean character. And when one tries to dig into their past or their present emotions, the attachment to them is even stronger.
I'm sure that in my story I had to miss a lot of stuff, questions without answers but this is only my fault and I do not regret anything, I made my story what (usually I never do a second time a Visual novel because the only real story e the one I made first with my mistakes and successes).
This game has some moments a bit violent but it does not go in excess.
The music is excellent and some are striking but the small flaw is that there are few (12 in all) and then occasionally we have this feeling of repeatability in most scenes.
Then the little catch is perhaps its price (€15) which is a bit excessive, I would advise you to wait for a promotion that places the price below the €10 because the game is rather short-> 4.5 h on my side to complete the story.
Then its other flaw is perhaps the absence of the French translation for now (because I am sure that one day there will be the official FR translation). I hope you have a correct level in English if you buy this game.
This game is really a little slap and I recommend it to the connoisseurs of Visual novel as to all new. The story is gripping!
On my side I was totally immersed in history.
After if you are still not sure to buy it, you can still test the demo.
