A Typical Day
About
It’s a typical day at the megastore. Walk in. Clock in. Greet the customers. Work.
Work. Work. Work.
Then, she comes in. You know her all too well. She doesn’t look at anyone as she beelines towards her item. Then she gets in your line. Because of course she does. You scan her item.
“Actually…“ She says, the words dripping down her chin like venom. “That’s supposed to be 75% off.” You had seen her pick it up. There were no signs around it.
“It’s full price,” You tell her.
“I want a manager and they better give it to me for 90% off for the trouble,” She says without breaking eye contact.
That’s when you crack your knuckles. Looks like it’s time to put her in her place. It’s a typical day in retail.
