Alex (ivan_blank)

Alex is a first-person puzzle game that explores gender stereotypes. A boy and a girl both named Alex find that they are sharing the same body for unknown reasons. After a chaotic getting-to-know-each-other process, they start to question their perspectives.

You can:

• Switch perspectives. 
• Explore the question of gender.  
• Discover past stories of characters.

This short game was created for a class and was developed within about 6 weeks. It comes from an idea of “what if we could literally exchange perspectives with other people?” A lot of puzzle-solving and storytelling gameplay then emerged. The story underwent subversive changes after the original paper prototype. The game is originally full of mockeries of stereotypes, but since playtesters point out that the characters are unfriendly and not introduced properly, we made a much milder version of the presentation.
