Bad Hotel is a really very bizarre Game in every Way.
A Tower Defense Game hidden behind a music experiment, Bad Hotel is an Application that could well bear the Game title "Oddity." You wonder all The time, what's the point of doing, what do I have to do so I can win the Level-because Help hardly offers the Game to the inclined player. But you probably have to admire the Creativity and Originality of the Creator who programmed this bizarre Game as it is and acts on you.
Defend the Hotel by Attacking birds (armed with Bombs!), Clouds, Bees shooting Projectiles and other strange Creatures. By placing "Rooms" as a Tower Wall, we are supposed to prevent the destruction of the Hotel-whether that works out?
If they scratch their Heads now, they're not alone. The Author of these Lines is similar.
In the Role as the Owner of a new Hotel, their only Goal is to prevent the Destruction of Your Building by building new building blocks. Waves of rioting Animals (Suicide Bombers) will do their Best to make You fail. To stave off the Attack, rooms (which cost Cash) and Gun Towers (which crush oncoming Enemies) must be built, joined at Your Hotel like a Patchwork, adding a new Sound bite to the "Soundtrack."
The Levels are terribly unbalanced and require the Player to have an almost Perfect Design. How to do that-that's what the Game is silent about. But When you manage a Level, there's no Satisfaction when you successfully complete a Level. You have the Feeling that it was anything but Luck that you mastered the Level. This Free-form Strategy of traditional Tower defense games forces the Player to constantly adjust his Plan as you place each Room. It's just unsatisfactory and disturbing, the "Music" annoys, the Opponents are too twisted and inappropriate and any Motivation to want to continue playing is undermined.
Why would I want to do the Game even further?
The Music that resounds through the different Sounds of each built tower is anything but melodic, more like Beeps, as you still know them from a 56K modem. Bad Hotel causes terrible Headaches after a short Time and the Handle after the mute button is done quickly. Visually, it's equally disorganized and ugly even for a game previously developed As a mobile game. The Implementation for the PC is rather bad.
Conclusion: There are lovingly designed Tower Defense Games that inspire playfully as well as Musically and go experimental Ways, But Bad Hotel did nothing of the sort to keep me happy. Clearly too little Gameplay for the Price.
