Survive The Lunar Surface

Craft, explore,  survive. After surviving a crash landing on the moon the player must work to survive long enough to be rescued. Craft items to help mining and produce resources to survive the harsh environment. Step 1: Re-establish contact with mission control.

Gather & Process

Collect and process rocks into elements, or set up drills to automatically gather materials.

Store & Manage

Manage your materials, oxygen and rations in order to survive until rescue.

Craft & Build

Craft and place items to communicate back home and add to your lunar base.

Overview

Beyond The Crater was created for the 'Github Game Off 2020' a month long game jam around the theme 'MoonShot'. The game is open source and so you can find the link to the source code below (or here). "MoonShot" inspired us to think about the impossible and the moon. We combined these into a game where the player survives the impossible, a crash landing on the moon surface near the habitation they were supposed to land at. The player must survive to set up communications and schedule a rescue mission. The player must craft items and set up drills and power in order to survive the lunar surface, while ensuring they have enough oxygen and food to last them until help arrives.
