Product received for free Bit Blaster XL is a retro casual game of The old School Of Nickerversion Studios Story: As with most games in this Category, no Story is included, the Game is intended only for short-term/entertaining Amusement. Atmosphere: The Atmosphere that the Game exudes is very tense. You try to collide with Nothing and No One at all Costs. That Is exactly what such Games are supposed to do. Game features: When I started playing, I expected a simple asteroids clone, what I got was something else entirely. The Game may be simple at first Glance, but you can expect so much Content from the Fewest Games in this Price range. There are two "Difficulty Levels": Car shoot and Non-auto shoot. The difference is that in one Mode the limited Ammunition is simply clenched wildly and in the other it has to be shot with another Button. Keycount and Control: The Game is played in Auto-Shoot Mode with three Keys (A, D for Controlling the Spacecraft, Space key for the Booster). Alternatively, you can play with Gamepad. In the second Mode, the Game is also played with Strg, which is needed to fire the Ammunition. The Controls initially take getting used to every single Spacecraft, but after a few Deaths, you have the Hang of it. Each Spacecraft has its own score in each Mode, which must be surpassed, with a massive Number of PowerUps to help. (E.g. Shield, various Fire Modes, Weapons, Ammunition). There are many different Opponents, some of whom can also defend themselves. Some Opponents drop Coins. If you have collected a certain Number of Coins, you can buy new Spaceships. The Menu is fantastically designed! It is clear at first Glance what awaits a hostile Spaceships flying against the Title and the various Horsemen and explode in a white Swath of Pixels. Extremely detailed, the Menu alone could be sold on Steam! The only thing I lacked in the Menu was the Interactivity. Just ball a bit on the visualized Content before the game starts and practice a little before it gets down to Business. Graphic: The Game is as Befits retro games of this Kind, kept in Pixel Style, nicer, you can't design such a Game with PixelArt. Translation: A German Translation is missing, but it would also be Superfluous and too much Work. The Game principle, Control and everything else could easily be understood even without any Writing. Music: The Music is fascinating, the Developer must have sat on it for a long Time. These are several 8-bit Endless Loops that don't get annoying or boring. Each Spacecraft has its own Track. Innovation: Is this Game Innovative? Was there anything like that before? Do these Questions Answer when both are answered positively? The Answer is THREE MAL YES! Simply because we all know these Types of Games, everyone knows the Game principle, everyone knows how it works. The Innovation here is in the Details. Smallest Changes that eclipse many similar Games from before. Fun: Bit Blaster XL is hard to beat In Fun. The Game just has everything it takes. And more! I don't want to say more about The Fun of the game, the Game just speaks for itself. Price/Performance: The Buyer cannot imagine a better price/performance for money. A Ton of crammed with Content and the Fear of getting hooked by this Game ... And for less than one Euro?! The Developer could sell Bit Blaster XL for 10 times without having to expect bad Reviews. I'm definitely happy to have this Game in my Library and can only recommend it to others. Game function: 8/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Graphic: 7/10 Innovation: 5/10 Music: 8/10 Game Fun: 10/10 Price/Performance: 10/10 Total Score: 8/10 An Indie Masterpiece! Omakoma over and out!
