Cogs is a puzzle game. Slide the squares (and cubes) of copper tubing to allow the steam to follow its course. Metaphorically, you live in a steampunk world and you are the creator of amazing machines, but the creation of these machines, well, requires a leisurely breathing and, although there is no risk but the challenge demands it, reflect your steps before acting. The game, in itself, is pretty. It Uses its three-dimensional engine well for the construction of the puzzles and its navigation. Everything feels fluid. The music is relaxing and also contributes to a nice gaming experience. It's Just about solving puzzles: There's no history, characters or pets. There are no powers Either. The puzzles, level to level, increase their degree of complexity but thanks to the aesthetics of the game and the sound, in reality, it never becomes a frustrating or desperate experience. Although I'm not a fan of sliding puzzle games, I really liked the experience of Cogs until I was tired. I Remember, vaguely, one of the most frustrating puzzles of the 7th Guest that almost made me quit the game. Cogs I had enough, clearly, because I do not like the puzzles but I was pleasantly surprised because without much thought, I played much longer than expected (half an hour on steam to write this review, three hours on my Mac). Two bad points of the game: your resolution is fixed for a 4:3 monitor and although I was looking, I didn't find a way to change that. The other is that their saved games do not support steam cloud and my progress between platforms is uneven. But They are my only complaints and frankly they are superficial. If you are looking for a puzzle game that guarantees a good time, look for Cogs on Steam.
