Curse: The Eye of Isis
About
Strange things are happening at Great Britain’s museum of natural history in 1890. A gang of ruthless thugs has broken into the establishment, the Eye of Isis Egyptian statue has been stolen, and a mysterious fog has overtaken a number of areas of the museum killing and transforming all it comes into contact with.
In this survival horror game you will be playing as museum curator/archeologist Victoria Sutton and her childhood friend Darien Dane, you’ll have to fight the various beings and entities created by this fog. You'll spend considerable time in the museum, take a steam train to the coast and travel the seas in a huge cargo ship before finally entering the pyramid tomb where you must find and destroy the source of this ancient evil.

So, this Game gets everything wrong that you can get wrong as a Games Programmer. Poor Graphics, miserable Controls, a Level Design to run away from and a yawning boring Story. Nothing has been done about Computer Game Developments here. Instead, the whole thing should probably also be reminiscent of Resident Evil or Tomb Raider. Clearly, an insignificant Indie-name is not bombastic. However, many ambitious Developers are using this Platform to implement something New. And there were bloody Beginners at Work here. Many Errors in graphics and Game Mechanics and poorly set memory Points then do their rest.
This Game is a Cucumber and quite a sour.

After I had the Game in my Hand as a small Elementary School Student, it stuck in my mind, because the Pro-mobilders on the cover and the then FSK Rating "from 18" seemed to testify to a good Horror Game.
Only now, more than 10 Years later, did I acquire the Game on Steam with a little bit Of Anticipation. Surely I can say that the Screenshots on the Shop Side didn't look very promising, but since I grew up with Old-school, I can also play Old-school.
To the Game: The Storyline is as trashy as the then Inspiration "Resident Evil." The Setting is quite nice, although I personally found Mummies and the like never been particularly sinister. The Graphics are appropriate for Age and for someone who grew up with old Systems, like me, quite acceptable. The Graphic is Comparable to that of "American McGee's Alice," which was published at a similar Time.
Technically, it must also be said that the Control is a real Spasm. The Mouse can be forgotten and has to rely entirely on Keyboard control. The Default Settings are the Plague, so you have to try yourself out and do the Key Assignment yourself. But even then, the Figures steer themselves very badly, which means: Combat System is for the ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Nevertheless, I have to admit that the Game Makes Buck on more, because despite the Difficulties it always goes well and you want to make progress after all. You have to talk about a certain Addictive Factor and maybe it's still Fun for one or the other.
For trash fans and Nostalgics who have a few Euros left over, it's worth a Look!
(By the Way, there are two Bugs in the PC Version that should definitely be bypassed, otherwise a new Game Start is necessary!
Once, the Key to the Osiris exhibition, which you get in the Employee's Safe after getting his Glasses away from HIM, must necessarily be taken SOFORT with him. The Key disappears if you forget it and even save it, forever and the Game can't go on!
On the other hand, as a Darian, you have to leave the water Bucket, which you find in a Hallway after which you have fought 2 bears, in peace, otherwise the other Character will not get any further and depend on the Bucket.)
