DEAD-THINGS.COM (pronounced "Dead Things Dot Com") is an internet-themed first-person 3D action game that gives the player the opportunity to finally kill what is often praised for being immortal: digital data.
Set in a glitched internet park that houses living data behind shut doors, DEAD-THINGS.COM comments on digital things, and the developer's thirst to live in a dream world where she can participate in digital spaces like the internet without the unsolicited archiving or immortalizing of her words or actions or thoughts or self. Using the computer mouse's left-click, players go through three levels trying to - once and for all - gain peace by killing the undead internet artifacts that haunt them.
DEAD-THINGS.COM was developed in 3 days for the Attack And Dethrone God game jam. This game jam sparked the interesting idea in the designer of killing something powerful that is generally celebrated for the fact that it never dies. For whom is immortality exciting?
