Deer Man

Disoriented through the barren Deer Man forest is supposed to be a Game designed for the sake of Wildlife. In the roughly three-quarter-hour Experience, we explore a quiet, wintry forest Where some strange Things happen. The Game tells a thin but fundamentally quite interesting Story, which takes a clear position on the Topics of Hunting and Wildlife. All in all, however, the Pakistani Developer Red Mount Media is making it a little too easy for itself here and seems to be too much of a flatkeeping of the Complex Topic of the hunt for my Feeling. Although the Story has quite one or two somewhat more emotional Moments, so ultimately I couldn't really identify with the Characters or the Message. Now, of course, the Views and Opinions here are different And everyone should draw their own conclusion to Message, but personally the perspective of the Game on the Subject areas has not really taken me any further. Even playfully, Deer Man remains very superficial. In most Cases, we are also Mistaken due to poor Player leadership in search of the next exploration Location through the very sparsely equipped forest. There are also a few other Game mechanics, such as Solving an extremely simple Puzzle, but the Game is clearly focused on Telling its Story. Stylistically, I still liked Deer Man the most. There is not Much to discover in the Playing Areas, but the reduced Style combined with the slow Tempo and the subtle soundscape can create a relaxing Feeling of Isolation. Another Minus Point: The VR implementation for the Oculus Rift made a rather opaque and hairy impression on me, so I preferred to play the Game classically on the Desktop. Conclusion Deer Man tries to sensitize the Player with a clear Message for The protection of Wildlife, but this is how really the Bill is neither narrative nor playful.
