Die-Rise
About
Die-Rise is a 3D shooter with an emphasis on player freedom, taking inspiration from titles such as Deus Ex, Doom, Half-Life 2 and Max Payne.
You are a vigilante who has grown tired of the criminals ruining your home neighborhood. You set out to bring them down by yourself by entering their base of operations, a high-rise building downtown, and causing havoc. The concept for the game and its brief narrative stems from movies such as Die Hard, Dredd and The Raid.
Features
- Buff your arsenal: Multiple weapons to discover and choose from
- Play with physics: Destroy crates and windows, throw objects, and kick your enemies
- The Master of Unlocking: Lockpick doors, enter air ducts, find alternate routes
- Reach the top: Three full levels to explore, each containing multiple floors of the building, as well as a boss fight on the roof
- Tune and adjust: Change audio and graphics settings in the menus
- Keep your progress: Save the game at any time, continue from an autosave after dying or load one of three available save files
How to play
Die-Rise is old-school, your health does not regenerate and no weapon has infinite ammo. Be sure to look around and stock up on whatever you can, whenever you can. Controls are displayed at the start of the game.
Fight your way to the top of the building, look for different paths and outsmart your enemies. Those explosive barrels might come in handy.
Hint 1: Run, crouch, and jump in quick succession for maximum movement speed.
Hint 2: If you notice a wall with a slightly different texture you might want to throw something at it...
Disclaimer: The tripmines cannot be shot unlike the booby trapped doors, try to throw an object at the laser instead.
