Donut County
About
Donut County is a physics adventure game where you control a hole in the ground. Every time you swallow something, the hole grows a little bit bigger.
You play as a raccoon named BK, a new hire at a startup that uses remote-controlled holes to steal people's trash - along with everything else. When BK falls into a hole himself, he must answer to his best friend Mira and the residents of Donut County who are now stuck 999 feet below their homes.

Donut County reviews and comments
Donut County is one of those tiny, clever games that make you smile from the very first minute. Published by Annapurna Interactive, it offers a deceptively simple concept: you control a hole in the ground that swallows everything around it — from pebbles to buildings — growing larger with every bite. There’s no timer, no failure, no stress. Just the strangely satisfying pleasure of cleaning up the world by devouring it.
The story is as silly as it is charming. In the small town of Donut County, mysterious holes start appearing, and soon everyone finds themselves trapped underground. The culprit? BK, a raccoon running a donut delivery app who doesn’t see what the fuss is about. The writing is sharp and funny, full of tongue-in-cheek millennial humor and absurd exchanges that wouldn’t feel out of place in a cartoon like BoJack Horseman.
Gameplay is intentionally minimalistic. You move your hole, watch objects fall in, occasionally solve light environmental puzzles — maybe burn something, mix water, or “matchmake” a pair of rabbits. The physics are delightful, the art colorful and clean, and the soundtrack blends lo-fi beats with playful melodies. Yet, after two or three hours, it’s all over.
That brevity is both a blessing and a curse. Donut County is wonderfully polished and meditative, but it never quite evolves into something more. It flirts with the idea of being a sandbox or a physics experiment like Katamari Damacy, then stops just short of it. Still, for what it is — a small, cozy experience with charm and personality — it works beautifully.
It’s a bite-sized treat, not a feast. But sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
Score: 72/100 – short, smart, and sweet. A perfect evening snack of a game.

«Underrated»
Donut County is a very short romp oozing with charm. It has very chill vibes thanks to its soundtrack and simple yet fun puzzles. The story isn't anything special but it is still enjoyable. Donut County is definitely a good game but the asking price is a bit much due to its extremely short length. To put the length in perspective, my playtime is about 2.6 hours, and that's from playing through the game twice.

Cute little Indie with a relaxing vibe for most of the game. It has some interesting physics based mechanics that extend beyond what you might think a hole in the ground can do, but it really doesn't fully show off this potential until the very end of the game.
Overall, this game has some fun and relaxing moments and even get a few laughs, but I would recommend everyone wait for a sequel if and when they continue to develop more interesting dynamics like what was done in the end of the game.
Get it on game pass while you still can, otherwise, skip it and wait for Donut County 2

«That ending!»
Chill game, nice to relax too but wish it was longer and the chatting mechanics/plot were kinda basic and boring.
Fantastic Game with a great style of graphics and humour. Would have loved to see more expansion on the main mechanic, and it's a tad frustrating that it feels it was tampered with a little but not enough. It fits somewhere between relaxing and a puzzle game, maybe should've committed to one or the other

«Just one more turn»
I was expecting some mindless hole action but I was surprised by a humorous story about a raccoon.

Recommendation: I enjoyed it. Worth the time.
Fun little game. Chill and pretty. It reminded me of Katamari Damaci. Fresh dialogues keep you interested but it feels like they could have done more with the characters.
