About

Drox Operative is a starship action RPG with warring alien races, fierce space battles, a dynamic, evolving galaxy, and co-op multiplayer for Windows and Mac.

Eons ago the Drox ruled the galaxy through their mighty Operatives. These elite starship captains were trained to accomplish the impossible at whatever cost necessary. Whether employing stealth or brute force, they were always deadly. Using these Operatives, the Drox built a starlane system for quick travel amongst the stars, colonized and conquered millions of planets, and ruled the galaxy with an iron grip for over 100,000 years. Eventually realizing their Operatives were a threat, they attempted to assassinate all of them. They failed. The following Galactic Civil War was devastating.

Thousands of years later, the Drox are extinct, but the secretive Drox Operative guild lives on. They have learned their lesson though: loyalty to any one race is foolish. They now work for whoever can pay. And pay they do! Empires might span hundreds of planets and thousands of ships, but when a critical task arises, they still turn to an Operative.

In the new space race, the major races are scouting, colonizing, and expanding, trying to take over the galaxy by diplomacy, technology, war, or any other means their scheming minds can contemplate.

As a Drox Operative it's NOT your job to manage all of those annoying people, build thousands of buildings, play nice with your enemies, or balance the budget. It IS your job to pick the winning side and maybe even help them conquer the galaxy if you're being nice, more importantly though is to rake in as many credits as possible, well that and build the coolest, deadliest ship in the known universe. Not many screw with an Operative captaining a Dreadnaught!

Drox Operative reviews and comments

I have to be very surprised. Drox Operatives has everything an action RPG needs: Collecting items and Gradually improving your own Equipment, enemy waves around enemy waves for which you urgently need the above equipment, bosses, Randomly generated ... Dungeons (in a sense, when space sectors belong to Dungeons), even more difficult, bigger, tougher and invincible Bosses, trade, Research and, Of course, the unreasonably disapproving Quests. And then there is this Matter with the Factions and the dynamic Development of the Races. Will I end up being Ruler of Space? No. But I will help one (or more) race (s) to do so-and thus win over the Sector. Which Breed? That's Quite up. At. You. Why didn't anyone get on it any other time, Blizzard? I have to be very surprised. The Graphics are bad. The Music is Mediocrity at best. The Sounds are clearly below average. Voiceover does not exist. No Intermediate Squints. Art Design at the Level of 20 Years ago. Again, I wonder. But my Recommendation has it. This Gameplay is just unlike anything I've seen before. Apart from Space Rangers 2, maybe, but Drox is clearly better in my Opinion.

My Hours here on Steam will confuse some, which are so deep because I have only recently been playing the Game on Steam As well. However, I have been playing it since beta and have had quite a few Hours of Fun, so much about it. Now to the Game. Many would probably describe it as a Kind Of space Diablo, but For me it is more than that. While the Diablo series became from part to Part prettier, but Stagnated from a Game mechanic, Drox Operativ offers The latter above all. Just like the same Developer's other H & S games, Drox Operativ offers a very pleasant Feel. Everything you do feels kind of important because everything always somehow has an Impact on the NPC breeds. Whether you're doing Quests, actively fighting some of the Races, or just chasing Monsters, the Universe is changing. Sure, sometimes the Influence of the Player is greater, sometimes smaller, depending on what you do, but also depending on how big The current Galaxy is and how many Breeds are in it. Apart from that, I also feel quite refreshing the Equipment System, it is more important to Eve Online than to a usual Butcher Game, but above all it offers the Player many ways to develop the Ship. Clear, Graphics and Sound are not the Best on the Market, but in my Eyes both are quite Enough, at least I have Fun with it, both alone and with Friends in the Co-op. Conclusion as to who likes to play Hack & Slay or Rouge likes and places more Emphasis on game mechanics than On optics, I can recommend Drox Operative and Addon. If you are not sure about the Sci-Fi setting, just Download Demo and try it out.
