Emergent - Chapter 1

This is the 15 minute prototype for the first few unrefined cutscenes of my visual novel concept.

Emergent is a science fiction story that seeks to explore the relationship humanity will develop with technology such as Artificial Intelligence, Brain-Computer-Interfaces, Robots, etc.

Emergent takes place in the year 2048.

This prototype was created with Naninovel in Unity. The UI has not been altered, and was not designed by me.

This prototype's art is composed of sketches and simple drawings, as I am still designing the characters and environments. I tried capturing the gist of the story; It will be expanded upon and improved in the final version. 

Even though the story is intended for an older audience, I found it difficult to take myself too seriously with the drawing style. I had fun with the dialogue and (again) did not take myself too seriously while writing it.

The story has swearing and alcohol references.
