Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning
About
The year is 1908. The 20th century is still young.
An unfamiliar 20th century - in an unfamiliar world.
This is a world that experienced a 19th century very different from our own. A world filled with innumerable steam-powered Engines.
The unnaturally rapid development of this steam civilization has left the world's skies shrouded in grey... and its seas dyed in shades of black.
"Sea" - Once, the word suggested an expanse of blue. Today, it refers to something dark and putrid.
The former harbor city of Marseille in the European Kingdom of France looks out on a sea as black as any other. But these particular waters are home to something that can't be found anywhere else on Earth...
A massive artificial island, solid and imposing as a fortress. A city in its own right, but also a school; a place bursting with life and color.
Its formal name: The Marseille Offshore Academia.
The Academia - a city founded on cutting-edge engine science; an academy designed to produce the greatest Erudite Scholars in the world.
It stands above a sea fouled by the flourishing of modern civilization.
It sits below a sky polluted by the emissions of countless Engines.
And nonetheless, it shines like a jewel, filled with the radiance of students glorying in their youth.
This is a place so overflowing with energy as to recall the long-lost sun.
A place that glitters with a beauty reminiscent of the long-lost stars.
However, the Academia is also a city with a secret. Beneath its facade hides a darkness feared even by the French monarchy.
Specifically... the school lies under the control of the "English West India Company," a secret society that rules Europe's underworld with an iron first.
Not even the agencies of the great European powers could expose the Academia's true nature; powerless to interfere, heads of mighty states can only watch warily for some sign that might reveal the Society's intentions.
The Academia - a gorgeous island closed off completely to the outside world.
A school that no student is permitted to leave, except as successful "graduates."
A society of the young and for the young, self-sufficient and proudly independent.
A city-state under the absolute rule of the "Governing Council," an elite body composed of the "Fraternity" and "Sorority"... and a subordinate branch of the English West India Company.
A radiant distortion in the fabric of the world, continually producing both brilliant young talent and fearsome supernatural Arts.
A carefully-cultivated, absolutely impenetrable garden of secrets.
However, in the spring of 1908... A single young man appears within its walls.
After declaring his intent to wage war against the Governing Council, he introduces himself in this way:
"Nikola Tesla. 72 years old. I'm a transfer student."
"Students of the Marseille Offshore Academia. My hundred thousand young friends, cursed by fate."
"...I will save every last one of you with my own two hands."
And at the summit of Château d'If, a bell rings out.
The Bell of Gahkthun, announcing that the time of rejoicing is at hand...

A Wonderful visual novel.
History tells about the adventures of Nikola Tesla, the famous scientist. Here, however, instead of science at his disposal are supernatural forces. He creates good in an episodic manner in a steampunk metropolis, which serves as an addition to the huge Academy. Fortunately, the Academy is more likely to be closer to the university than the school, so the harem flashbecks are quite hard to catch.
The Plot is very good. It Starts even slightly better than it continues. The Final is somewhat disappointing, the benefit of the Big Bad pawn was scored more than himself. It would be More interesting if the pawn had grown up with the big one or slipped it. But No.
The Game is linear, but there are elections in the built-in parables that give access to short scenes after the chapters, further revealing the story.
The Graphics are beautiful and quite original. I have read bad reviews about the bed scenes, but they are 1. They are Drawn so that they do not require censorship at the rating of 17 +, 2. The scenes Themselves are more of an artistic value than an object for a facet.
The Game deserves your attention)

Today in my review I will discuss Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning, a visual novel from the publisher MangaGamer.
I'll Start with the fact that the first thing that impresses the game-it's a giant open, the song from him immediately remembered and want to put her on the phone.
The Overall plot of the game revolves around the entourage of steampunk, where our main character-Nikola Tesla, the embodiment of good in this gray and cruel world. He appears in some Academy-a school for the release of the greatest scientists, which is controlled by the Secret World Association. It is this community, and more precisely the Board of Governors, that our hero declares war. The Plot is really good, and though the game is a kinetic novel, we have the right to choose the plot branches, which reveal to us additional elements of the overall picture of the plot, the end is still only one, we will in any case go to the key branch and finish the story One ending as in a book.
Visual component at a good level, the characters and backgrounds are perfectly drawn, and although I am not a fan of this type of affectation, I more like the other style, more modern Thatley, but it is a subjective matter. However, I still try to be objective in my review and admit that the picture is made at the level, it is true, the artists tried to fame.
As for the sound component, we will hear a lot of music of French motives, a la Sharmanka, as well as a lot of classical music and everything in such a spirit, it is good or bad to decide for yourself, it is again a matter of taste. In General, the music is different from the situation when it is necessary-plays alarming when the Roantika-romantic. By the Way, the characters of the game are voiced in Japanese, which is rare for visual novels, acting at a good level, thanks to her for the characters begin to worry, because the emotions of the characters are transferred to excellent.
Summing up I want to say that I personally liked the novella, because I love the style of steampunk, romance is also enough, but it is not the main thing, yet the main in this game-the plot, and here it is really cool, so my verdict-the game is good, it has everything that Should be in a quality visual novel, and if you do not mind to spend a few tens of hours reading, then it should you like.
