INFERNIUM reviews

Infernium uses mainly veteran platformer and aracde elements – and mixes them Homogeneously with modern Survival horror. On The Side of technology (Unreal Engine 4) and Gameplay, there is virtually nothing to complain about; Only the Memory Points could have liked to be placed a little closer to each other. Hello. I would like to give you a short overview of Infernium and what kind of game you can expect: In Infernium you explore strange landscapes: castles, caves, bridges high in the air, floating islands. You the player do not know what to do there, but will soon figure out that you are in a dangerous place. Just start exploring everything else will become clear later. There are enemies that chase you and for a long time you won't be able to do anything against them. The environment becomes meaningful: narrow areas mean that you can see enemies hiding behind the next edge very late, maybe too late, from a high place you can figure out where your enemies are located, walking into a dead end while being chased means you will die. You'll have to think about your movements. If you die you'll find yourself in a room with lights. Everytime you die a light goes out. At the end of "the path of lights" there is a grey door. What will happen if all lights go out? What is behind the door? The lights you collected before now gain a new meaning: you yourself leave one of these behind if you die... The game includes such subtlety. The environments are beautiful. The game interacts with the player, e.g. by tricking him. The game is challenging (there will be probably lower difficulty mods in the future). There is lore to be found. Its usually written on walls and tells a story that seems ok for me and also isn't the main aspect of the game. The environments are beautiful and some are designed to be moved through in 3 dimensional space (you can dash from where you are standing to another location, this includes dashing over air, but not through enemies). While being marketed as a horror game, there isn't gore/real blood (just a red screen) and I like that (I normally don't play horror games). All in all I can really recommend this game if you want an experience of meaningful exploration, being chased a lot, beauty, figuring things out by yourself (but don't expect deep thought provoking riddles), the sense of an unknown world that slowly reveals itself and how it works and a challenge. 8/10 PS: I recommend not to read the guide like I did and figure out the game for yourself which I think is a large part of what it makes so enjoyable. Better ask a concrete question in the games discord channel than to spoil your experience by reading the guide. However if you want more direction and an overview about the games goals you can read the beginning of it.
