Ironcast
About
Inspired by Victorian era science fiction writers such as H.G. Wells and Jules Verne, Ironcast is set in an exciting alternative history; a time when refined men and women in top hats and bonnets commanded gigantic walking war machines, laying waste to the enemies of the British Empire! Take control of a 7 meter tall walking vehicle called an Ironcast and face off against an invading force of enemy Ironcast in order to defend 1880's Victorian England.
Battles are fought by generating resource nodes which in turn drive the Ironcast's various weapons and systems. You must choose how to spend these nodes wisely, either offensively in order to cripple and destroy your opponents, or defensively, if they suspect a barrage of incoming weapons fire is due.Features:

I watched this Game and was immediately excited about the Setting and the Art Design. Then I played it for a few Rounds and was suddenly sobered up.
Connecting the randomly occurring Nodes for the Mech is an interesting Game Mechanic. However, I felt a bit flooded more than once because just no Ammunition nodes or Cooling Nodes Slipped after that and therefore I could do virtually nothing more. At the same time, you don't see the opponent's Board (if he has one at all internally), which makes it taste a bit bitter if the Opponent can always activate what they need. Just Felt stupid.
The biggest Weak Point is the Design decision to make the two Defense Mechanisms so strongly asymmetrical. While the Shield reliably Blocks off Rapid-fire weapons or Cluster weapons, strong Individual Firearms can only be meaningfully neutralized by Dodging, so you have to rely on the RNG. In Both attack and Defence. As a result, two Single-shot weapons are stronger than two Rapid-fire weapons. Over a sufficiently large Number of Attacks, dodging may have statistically the same effect as a Shield, but during a Fight, Dodging through its Unreliability is not a really tactical Option.
It would be unfair to give the Game a Thumbs down just for this Reason, which is why I don't, but the two Above points then take away the Fun of the Game.

I play on Linux. Linux version: excellent.
The game description on the page of the steam store is all correct: PuzzleQuest meets FTL. I played both, that's quite it.
So we find the concept match-3 which I am a fan, although it is often a little different from one game to another: Bejeweled, candy crush, 10 million, Tidalis,... with 5 resources;
Energy, necessary to activate shields and motor (displacement = Dodge).
Ammunition repairs (which do not date your life, but allow to repair the 4 systems that are your 2 weapons, your engine and your shield).
The coolant, necessary for the activation of all other systems.
The dough. Here these are pieces of scrap, necessary to repair, and buy the upgrades in the hangar between each mission.
And special objects to combine with all this: a link to associate different resources, a boost to improve the next system activated,....
Next to that, we have the parameters of FTL: target of some opposing systems (rather destroy the shield or weapons?), choice of components of each system between each mission, loot of upgrade to each mission, game in turn by turn (here we have the right to matcher 3 time to get the resources that they want).
The steampunk ambiance Victorian era is well present. It's pretty close to ironclad tactics that has a similar universe.
Neither the graphics nor the music have transcends, but nothing to complain about this side, it fulfills its role.
Replayability, achievements replayability is well present. Each run will be different, pray that the RNG God will be favorable to you!
A small downside on the achievement that asks to reach the level 40, it still takes a lot of time:).
In short after 4H of game about, I am conquered. Recommended for match-3 enthusiasts!
GNU/Linux the Linux version is excellent. The game turns to the hair on my machine, and I have not encountered any problems.
OS: Linux Mint 17 x64, MATE Edition.
Hardware: i5 3570K OC @ 4.5 GHz, NVIDIA 670GTX, 16GB RAM.
Screens: Triplescreen, including one vertical, configured in separate X-screens.
