Kalos-Eidos-Skopos: Bachelor Project Documentation
About
Kalos-Eidos-Skopos: An Interactive Art Toy
"The name of the project derrives from the three Greek words that form the meaning behind "kaleidoscope." Kalos (καλός), meaning "beautiful," eidos (εἶδος), meaning "shape," and skopos (σκοπός), meaning both "watcher" and "thing looked at." You probably remember looking inside a Kaleidoscope as a child, observing the optical instrument’s shapes and patterns that multiply themselves seemingly endlessly through reflections.
Inside the Kalos-Eidos-Skopos exhibition, you are not only the observer, but also the creator. The installation turns a room into a live visual mixing station combining physical and virtual environments, midi-controllers and web cameras to play with and generate an endless amount of different kaleidoscopic visuals."
These are the words that describe my bachelor project, which was exhibited to the public in Berlin over the days 17/02 and 18/02, 2023.
This page hosts a detailed documentation I made throughout the development of the project.
