Library of Babble (Freeplay Independent Games Festival)

Designed by Demi Schänzel (@idlemurmurs) and released on August 2019, the Library Of Babble remains a microcosmic social network brimming with small kindred stories. This version was specifically re-released for the Freeplay Independent Games Festival — and will be made available for the full duration of June, before the servers close and an offline version containing all your collective stories will be released. 

It's hoped this library may grow to become a space of grounding comfort, and someplace to warmly reside in over the course of these following few weeks ♡

CONTROLS

• Navigate through the library using WASD or the ARROW KEYS, or by holding down the LEFT MOUSE-BUTTON and DRAGGING. 
• Stories may placed by tapping ENTER when the quill fills up, written with a standard keyboard.
• Allow the compass to guide you toward undiscovered stories.

REMINDERS

• This game requires an internet connection to play.
• This is first and foremost a space to explore gentle acts of storytelling and prose. Write with kindness and love, as instances of abusive or otherwise cruel language (misogynistic, racist, homophobic or otherwise) won't be tolerated and offenders may get permanently banned from publishing further content.
