this was made for game design studio 4 (2nd semester of year 2 of the ba.design(games) at rmit university) while it was made for uni, it is still a project very close to my heart, so I consider it personal work as well.
the ongoing project/idea hopes to uncover the same lumen naturae identified by Pauli when studying alchemy though a psycho-physical lens. the project attempts to modernize this idea by using the computer as an apparatus to perform a type of virtual alchemy- i.e. find the light of the machine or lumen machina. this video greatly influenced my approach and may help you better understand alchemy as metaphor
the development process was/is somewhat therapuetic and closely resembles the process that the game depicts; an adversity, made pure, refined, then exalted- iron into gold. MUSIC
'girl with red tattoos' by mons jacet was used under a non-commercial, share alike license.
full credit goes to the artist. I cut and paste parts of the track here and there & used change speed/pitch in audacity to edit the song. These are the only changes applied & I dont feel it is transformative enough to call it my own work. upon request I can make this version available.
