Maui reviews and comments

"Maui" is a free Third-person game about Hawaiian Culture. Once There was a Princess whose Affection for an ordinary Man found no Favours among the Gods. The Gods separated the Lovers and made them two Halves of a single Bloom. We are Maui, the Brother of the Princess and we have to find our Sister again. To do this, we must fulfill Tasks to get the Gods to listen to us. We control our Character over a manageable Island where there are few Altars we have to cover with Victims (Coconut, Banana or Pig). Then comes a small Mini-Game in which we have to collect Crystals or defeat a big Demon. For the Opponents, we have a Sword with us and four Skills (more Health, faster Pace, etc.) that we can deploy. One can cure one's way by collecting a vegetable Type, which we should then replant as much as possible. The whole Game is arranged quite clearly. It takes about twenty Minutes to get to the End Credits. A Lot of Things are quite nice, but the Execution alone should have been more quality-conscious. The Fight is extremely rudimentary, which is also due to the fact that our Character cannot be moved during the Batting Animation. The Opponents are strangely strong. Fun doesn't really come up with this Combination. The Graphics get stuck in simplicity, but still manage to allow only about 15fps occasionally. In addition to Birdsong, there are strangely no. Hitting with the Sword remains astonishingly toneless. The Music is, albeit very short and looped, still the Best thing about the Game. The Hawaiian guitar played quite appealing. But that leads me to another Problem. The Game aims to bring Hawaiian Culture closer, but remains stuck at the Level of Tourist Information. Although There is a small Glossary, the Explanations of the individual Terms are modest, but usually with a single meagre Sentence. The Hawaiian guitar, for example (by the way an exciting Instrument) was only developed around 1900 and doesn't really have much to do with the original Culture and World of Gods. Everything stays on the easy-to-tasting Surface and thus ultimately tells nothing but an Air Bubble that bursts at the first sharp Thought. The resulting very weak Game Mechanics turn the Whole into a cheap plastic Advertising Ballpoint pen, which one takes with you, but which one does not miss, should one lose it. Rating: 3/10 Atmosphere 4/10 Story 3/10 Graphic 5/10 Sound 2/10 Game Mechanics 4/10 Balancing 5/10 Game Pass Conclusion: That In "Maui" the Phrases "mau," "au" and "i" are no Coincidence. 4/10 Overall Rating
