Moonlight Smugglers is a dramatic story-driven game marrying visual novel choose your own adventure style gameplay with light rpg elements and arcade sailing. It tells the story of Elizabeth Fay, a smuggler captain who is pursuing a mystery that captured her imagination since childhood — a reflection of a moon that cannot be seen in the sky.

The story takes place in an archipelago divided between three countries. As the young smuggler is pursuing her personal interests a large conflict is brewing...

This is a prototype. The development of the game is currently on indefinite hold as we lack resources to continue, but we welcome all interest and feedback!

The controls

Esc - close the game

the VN mode

• up, down or w, s — select the option
• enter or d — submit selection
• space — advance to the next message
• z — while held skip messages very fast
• left click — submit mouse selection; advance to the next message

the sailing mode

• w — sail forward
• a, d — turn the ship

debugging

• tab — force switch between the VN mode and the sailing mode
• 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 — switch between ocean palette presets
