  • Uses a Listen server so you can play on a LAN or connect directly via IP address.
Quick Start
  • Spawn bots from the Options menu or press B on the keyboard to manually spawn bots one at a time. Only the server can spawn bots.
  • Weapons at the park will respawn.
  • Ammo at the hotdog stand will respawn.
  • Health powerup donut at the hotdog stand will respawn.
  • Teleport at the door of some buildings.
Directions
  • This game is multiplayer but you can also play single player against bots.
  • This is a deathmatch (free-for-all) so kill all other players. Bots attack both players and all other bots.
  • Whoever gets the most kills wins but you just play as long as you want because there is no end to the game.
  • Bots enable you to score extra kills but can't win the game because they don't respawn so their score is not recorded.
  • No points are scored if you kill yourself.
  • Bots explode in fire if you cause enough damage.
Notes
  • Don't set Max bots in the Options menu too high without first trying out lower values because this can slow down the game making it unresponsive if your computer is not powerful enough. On my low power laptop I couldn't handle more than 300 Max bots but I am allowing up to 1000 Max bots because I assume a more powerful computer could handle it but I could not test it.
  • In the Options menu the Max bots allowed is lower if spawning bots every minute than if spawning bots once.
Version 1.0
  • Known Bug: Teleport sometimes causes gun to disappear. Work around press F and pick up a new gun.
  • Known Bug: After you press Tab to check score the HUD turns off. Work around press U to turn HUD back on.
  • Known Bug: Kill Z does not work.
Version 1.1
  • Bug Fix: After you press Tab to check score the HUD turns off.
  • Bug Fix: Teleport sometimes causes gun to disappear.
  • Added: Teleports.
  • Added: Weapon respawn.
  • Changed: Removed extra weapons.
  • Changed: Bot options.
Version 1.2
  • Coming soon
Technical
  • Unreal Engine Version 4.23
Design
  • The city level makes the game challenging as you run through obstacles trying to avoid being hit while trying to take out other players and bots.

Multiplayer Setup General
  • This describes how to setup the network for a multiplayer Unreal Engine 4 game using a listen server.
  • The Unreal Engine 4 game can run as a server & client or client.
  • Voice chat is supported in LAN mode and not supported in Internet mode.
Methods to setup a network
  1. LAN mode: Requires a LAN but if running the server and client on the same computer no LAN setup is required. Use LAN mode for single player.
  2. Internet mode: Requires a home Internet connection and setting up port forward 7777 UDP/TCP on your router. This is the most common method to use to play over the Internet.
  3. Wi-Fi cell phone hotspot : Requires running off the same Wi-Fi cell phone hotspot. This method only works if everyone playing is in the same house.
  4. Virtual LAN over Internet : Requires a VPN that supports Virtual LAN over Internet. This method can be used to play over the Internet if you don't want to setup port forward on your router.
LAN mode
  • To use LAN mode you need a working LAN but you can run the server and client on the same computer for testing with no LAN setup required.
  • If running the server and client on the same computer, change the Settings->Common Resolution to 680x480 so you can see the server and client side-by-side.
Server
  1. Connect the computer to the Internet.
  2. Start the game, select LAN mode and press Play.
Client
  1. Connect the computer to the Internet.
  2. Start the game, select LAN mode and press Find games then select the game from the Server list.
Internet mode Server
  • When using Internet mode the server can't be connected to a WI-FI cell phone hotspot.
  • When using Internet mode the server must be connected to a typical home Internet with a router so you can setup port forward 7777 UDP/TCP.
  • In Step 2, you must setup port forward 7777 UDP/TCP on your router. The setup procedure for port forward varies depending on the type of router you have so check online for instructions for your router.
  • In Step 3, IP address, if entered, is ignored when you press Play.
  1. Connect the computer to the Internet using a typical home Internet with a router.
  2. Setup port forward 7777 UDP/TCP on your router.
  3. Start the game, select Internet mode and press Play.
Client
  • The client can be run from any Internet connection such as a WI-FI cell phone hotspot.
  • In Step 2, use the Public IP address of the host computer for IP address.
  1. Connect the computer to the Internet.
  2. Start the game, enter IP address and press Join IP address.
WI-FI cell phone hotspot (Using Internet mode)

You can host games using a WI-FI cell phone hotspot using Internet mode as long as all computers are connected to the same WI-FI cell phone hotspot.

Server

Note: In Step 2, IP address, if entered, is ignored when you press Play.

  1. Connect the computer to the Internet.
  2. Start the game, select Internet mode and press Play.
Client

Note: In Step 2, for IP address, use the IPv4 address from the Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi of the host computer. On Windows use Start->cmd to open the command prompt and enter ipconfig to find the IPv4 address.

  1. Connect the computer to the Internet.
  2. Start the game, enter IP address and press Join IP address.
Virtual LAN over Internet (Using LAN mode)
  • LAN mode can be used over the Internet using a VPN.
  • This method can be used if you want to host the game over the Internet using a WI-FI cell phone hotspot.
  • Voice chat only works with LAN mode so this method can be used if you want to use voice chat over the Internet.
  • This method can be used if you don't want to use port forward.
