Oh Starry Knight!

Once upon a time, the sky was filled with constellations, and it was peaceful… 

From the distant recesses of the universe came a threat intent on colonizing the stars. It corrupted every celestial body it touched. But one hero stood at the gates of heaven, ready to unleash a cataclysm.

This mini puzzle platformer has you take the role of Starry Knight, a star that took upon itself to defend the universe against the human invaders.  

This game was made with Pixel Game Maker MV, Aseprite, and Beepbox for the Pixel Game Maker MV Summer Game Jam 2021. Enjoy!

Controls

Use either your game controller or the keyboard. 

For Keyboard

← → to move left or right

↓ to enter end-of-level gates

D to jump

A to use sword (consumes blue stars)

S to throw stars (consumes red stars)

Y to dash and avoid attacks or kill enemies (consumes yellow stars)

Enter to pause the game

F5 to reset the game

How to Play

The goal is to collect as many stars as are indicated in the goal indicator at the top left of the screen for each level. You need to reach the bell with this number of stars to be given a key to exit the level. However, you lose stars of a given colour each time you use a specific attack, so budget your stars wisely.
