Perils of Man reviews

Perils of Man is an Adventure that leaves me with mixed Feelings at the End of its almost 4 Hours of playing time. Therefore, quite uncharacteristically, this time there is my Conclusion first, before I go into a little further detail. This reads: Acquired in the Sale at a reasonable Price, it is worthwhile for players who are particularly worthy of History, especially if you are interested in the Topic of Time Travel. At full Price or for Fans of crisp Puzzles .. Rather not. The Strength of Perils of Man is, in fact, more in its Narrative and the endearing, oblique or simply interesting Characters. This is well worth having experienced and the Key Message that the Game wants to convey adds to its Value. Also to be commended in my Opinion is the often cuddly graphic, which is somehow simply "fits" for an Indie title. What it is about in the Game, in my Opinion, unfortunately the priority is the actual Game Mechanics. This is quite simply a result-too simple in my Eyes. The Puzzles, for example, are 95% limited to looking at the Environment and collecting a few Items and reinstating them in the right Place, the only Button you ever operate is the left mouse Button, regardless of whether you look at something Or-if possible automatically-it repeals. Unfortunately, the Hit boxes are often very small and it makes it easy to find the exact right point in a Pixel Search from the exact right Point. You have to combine something here and there, but this is too often announced practically literally and actual, classic Adventure Puzzles occur only 2 Times in the whole Game-and are then also too easy to solve. Personally, this Combination made me feel more like the Feeling of Almost Clicking back through a Visual Novel. In itself, that would be fine: If there were influential Decisions to make and I wouldn't have bought an Adventure. In addition, there are minor Inconveniences, such as the Fact that Ana does not run or you can't skip an Area when you (double) Click on an exit. A technical Decision that feels somewhat like it's just meant to prevent the already short Playing time from shrinking Even further. Or just the aforementioned Pixel Search When Dialing Objects. All in All, I liked the Game-as mentioned above due to its History and Characters-nevertheless, which is why I recommend it to a limited extent. If, however, we were to talk about a game with significantly higher Playing Time, it should be said that the mechanical Defects would probably have made me give up.
