Early Access Review I really want to like Project Zomboid, seriously, but it doesn't work. The Game itself has a Lot of Features, but they do not harmonize at all. The Struggle to survive is unfortunately absolutely boring In PZ as opposed to similarly stored games like State of Decay or Dead State. Why is This? At the Abstinence of the Meta-game. The above titles deal with Tasks, Radio Messages, collective Pressure, Interactions with NPCs, etc., Etc. All this is missing PZ. Sure, you have to collect certain Materials for certain Construction Projects, but that's pretty boring and feels more like Work. There is only a small Range of seam And Ranged weapons. Crafting is mainly limited to Components and Cooking. Assembling weapons yourself a la Dead Rising? Bad Ad. There are no NPCs. The Multiplayer may be a possible Substitute, but in my Circle of friends no one else plays PZ and with Strangers it is not so fun. Without NPCs, of course, there will be no Basic Management. The Combat System is very rudimentary and lacks Variation. There are no special Moves to learn over Time. Now it can be argued that some of these Features wouldn't fit PZ (like the addressed Dead Rising style gun Crafting) and I even agree. The Problem is that there really isn't a Feature in PZ, which makes it great positive of The Mass of survival games. I bought the Game before What-know-me and Wie-langer time, at that time there were still NPCs, they were then taken out at some point and I have been waiting ever since. And anyone who flirts with buying can adjust to long Waits just like me. PZ has been as far as I know since 6 (!) Years in Development. It's after Duke Nukem Forever on my personal Place 2 of the slowest Developed games. Really, you can pause PZ for a Year and you will have to look for new Content with the Magnifying glass. I can't explain why the Developers of this Game take so long to bring new Features into the Game. What's left in the End is an ambitious Project with a lot of Potential that is only extremely slow to be exploited. Whether PZ will ever finish is in the Stars. According to The current Speed Of development, the time could be in 2025. And yes, I am serious about this is, in my View, a realistic Assessment. If I have not died by Then due to old age, I will be happy to look back in. At The moment I can only advise everyone else against the Purchase, unless you have a few Friends who want to play the PZ or play. In Multiplayer, it might even be Fun. However, I can only advise individual players against the Purchase.
