Hello, today, February 1, 2019, I will make a short review of the game re-ligion which, in my opinion, to a lot of potential, but is not perfect. However, if the developers do not abandon their game, they could create a revolution in the small world of RTS, because the concept is extremely interesting.
Firstly, in re-ligion, there is no construction to be done to create troops. Here, we have to convert the citizens who people play the game card to our faith. The concept is hyper-interesting because very similar to the Wololo religion in the series of ages of Empires. Our troops will be exclusively composed of our followers. A unit is exclusively dedicated to the search for poor lost souls.
The atmosphere is great, because we are in a dark, dirty and hopeless cyberpunk universe (until our arrival, of course). Very easy to get into this universe full of neon. Moreover, I find, at least so far, the very interesting story, because it revolves around a Prophet who desires to awaken consciousness, and this, justifying that his faith is the only way to obtain the absolution of our sins.
However, there are some negative points that need to be solved in the near future.
-No other game mode except the campaign. This is worrying for replayability, because no possibility to create a scenario and share them on the workshop, no multiplayer, or even skirmish mode to face artificial intelligence.
-Finally, let's talk about the AI, because it is far too strong. I am not an expert in RTS, although I love the genre. In normal times, I make the campaigns in normal difficulty. In the case of re-ligion, no choice of difficulty and, as quoted above, this one is far too advantened. From the third level, there are too many things to manage, because the enemy attacks in large numbers in several places of the map, even if the game started 5 minutes ago. Strongly reduce the difficulty or the possibility to choose this one.
-The game offers the choice to take 3 religious ways, that is to say that each will offer bonuses that the others do not offer. However, with the exception of a short text, it is impossible to know what this is all about because there is no explanation of the power or unit bonuses. So at the moment, I don't see what this choice brings, although I doubt that it adds to the ' ' gameplay ' '.
Final notice: I recommend, but rather to people who want to support this project which, from my point of view, is very promising. For people looking for a complete strategy game, I strongly advise you to wait, because you only have a campaign of 9 missions to do, for now. No multi, no workshop, not even a skirtie. I hope that the developers will continue to improve their game, since the universe and the concept is awesome, simply fine tune their work.
