Ever wonder what would happen if Kingdom met a broad, skill based open world RPG? Welcom to Regions of Ruin. Regions of Ruin is a 2D side-scrolling RPG with town-building where you are introduced to an open world that progressively challenges your hero and settlement the further you delve into the vast continent. You will discover a foreboding land ravaged by hundreds of years of hardship. Where, kingdoms have risen and fallen, settlements have been laid to waste and overrun by warring groups, and great mysteries lay hidden and waiting to be unearthed - assuming you can defeat their jealous guardians. Main Features include: • Styled combat system with stats and levelling • Skill tree to focus your fighting style • Extensive loot and rare items to discover • Forge your own equipment or smelt it for resources • Open world exploration with a hand crafted environment, no randomized maps or levels, everything you see has been made with care • Customised town building and expansion • Rescue and recruit dwarves for your township (save them from extinction!) • Send workers to harvest resources from explored regions • Hire Mercenaries to help in battle • Multitude of Quests and a main storyline

Bad math, powercreep, powerspike, bad balancing highly degrade this game. UPDATE: Wow, the game is even more imbalanced now. You start out with a weapons which do 2-5 damage, then you get multiple companions, which spam ranged attacks with basedamage 50-200, which then gets further multiplied. So basically you have to "cheese" through the game with companions until lategame, where they might fall off. Also the mini game sucks hard, because it boring and quasi-mandatory and givesmuch too many benefits. Just delete the minigame and its fine. It has been a long time since I saw a game which is THAT MASSIVLY imbalanced. I wouldnt mind if a game is unbalanced by 20-50%, this is normal. But in this game numbers are off by several HUNDRED PERCENT!

Must confess that I didn't have this Game on my plan. I've stumbled there, more or less, coincidentally across a Let's Play (thanks again to ChoJin at this Point for his Let's Play) I think it's quite a successful Mix of Hack 'n slay, Platformer, Base setup as well as Resource Management and last but not least Roleplay. It's quite Fun in this Combination and also the Soundtrack knows how to please!! So if you're not put off by the pixelated Graphics, you'll find a really nice Time-eater here. And since today, it's also got out of early Access ... yeaaah! ;) The Developers are also very boastful as it seems and there will certainly still be the One or The other Addition and Improvement in the Game, I'm sure:) Have Fun with it:)

Region of Ruin is really Fun and really worth its Money. It combines RPG Elements (Enemies, Boss battles, Skilltrees, Levels, Looms) with a solid Micromanagement System. In addition, there are little Puzzles, Platforming Insoles and loads of little Stories that make it hard to put the Game out of hand. The Features it offers are well implemented and expanded. I find it pleasant that has not been swung here the Rogue lite hammer and for that has Been placed on a history-rich and meaningful Card that feels lively and is large enough to offer plenty of Variety. The Difficulty levels make it possible to play the Game the way you have the most Fun at yourself. The only small Shortcoming is the Pathfinding of one's own Followers-they are quickly overwhelmed in a non-level surface. But you can fix This yourself quite easily by using the "Rally your Allies" Button.
