Future Vision:Over time, I intend to work on Rodina towards the direction of "Daggerfall in Space" - a seamless procedurally-generated space RPG on a massive scale.

Frankly, this is crazy! I can't make any promises about where or how long Rodina will go (and I ask you to buy only based on what you see here now), but I can promise to keep working on Rodina for as long as I'm able to. I'm committed to making Rodina great, and I hope that what's already released shows that I'm capable of delivering something different, vital, and fun.

Please try the demo, and if you like what you see and pick up the full game, all your money will go towards Rodina's future development!

Rodina reviews and comments

Definitely unfinished (well of course it is, it's in early access), but even at the point it is at now, it is an absolutely incredible game, that is excellently written and has an amazing soundtrack, I cannot recommend it enough!

Early Access Review Rodina-tech demo or more? I really wondered why this Game, which offers little more in terms of content than a very good tech demo is so well rated? The Response follows a Listing of what's in the "tech demo." You start on an Asteroid and get the Introduction to the Story there, fly a Piece and get an Improvement for your Ship and then move on. The Graphics are beautiful, but overall everything is very empty, for Asteroids OK, with Planets it's incredibly boring when there's nothing there except rock or Ice Landscapes. You can and should give your Ship improvements and get Ammunition for "better" weapons. However, many Improvements, etc., are not. From the outside, your Ship looks like a Stone. The Interior already looks much better, you can also design it, which at this Stage of the Game offers no Sense or even Added value. The Solar System and the Controls are well done, the Distances and size of the Objects (Sun, Planets, Asteroids) appear realistic, The Control too (tlw. Newtonian Physics, Fighting are OK, Planet landing is challenging and overall it's Fun to fly the Ship). Interface is useful and allows for a good Playability of the Game. It makes no Sense to attack the Enemies except to get to a certain Place (in Asteroids) or for Fun, otherwise you don't have any of it. Even if they crash, you won't find anything at their Crash Location, except the burning Wreck. At some Point you're just going to bypass them, which is rather a shame. So Far, it is just an Early Acces game and is only developed by one Person. With all this you would be employed a maybe maximum 2h and then it would get very very boring. But It will not be and this is due to the Story and only for this reason can this be regarded as a full-fledged EarlyAcces game and only because of this can the €15 can be justified. And it's also because of History that the Rating is so good. In addition to the Core Story, which you discover Piece by Piece, there are also various Fragments of data that you can collect at various Crash Sites. With these Additional Information, the Story gets more Depth and in some cases it is very funny written (all in English). The Story is very well told and really exciting. Especially this Point where you understand ... But I don't want to pre-empt. Discover it yourself. This Game is worth + €10 and gets a positive Rating because: Despite the EA, it is already a "round thing" so a completed, if short (10h) gaming experience, the Game Mechanics are good and promising the story takes the Player well with It and has depth The current Focus is entirely on the Story of who buys the Game because of Space Sim, Exploration and Adventure will be rather disappointed. But If you want to take a look at what it offers technically and then want to get involved in a good Story, that's the place to be. I played through the Story comfortably in 10h, but could do even further research to get more side and Background Information or could have done the whole thing much faster. So Current average game Size is about 10h.
