Roly-Poly no Nanakorobi Yaoki is an edutainment title which allows the user to have a glimpse of 26 Japanese "kotowaza," or proverbs, while enjoying the performance of animal-motif characters called the Roly-Polys. Although largely targeted at kids, it is also intended to be enjoyed by adults because it incorporates cultural knowledge. It was a major goal of the creator to reproduce the cultural aspects of cartoons and animation in a digital medium. In Japanese and English, it was created using Fontographer, Director, and SoundEdit 16.
