Early Access Review In Sentinels is definitely more in It than you'd expect. At First I thought, "He, Tower Defense with FPS, is bound to be funny." But from Mission to Mission, more And more features are being unlocked and you really need to look at all the Possibilities. The Game invites you to work, try out new Upgrades and different Strategies. It's more than a "blind upgrade" to always win in the End. What impresses me is the Mix of Planning, Tactics and Action. Product received for free early access review * * * I won this game for free on the site orlygift.com but my opinion is not biased. This review is based on the early access v 0.9.6262 version that dates from 04.03.2017. * * * sentinels is a friendly Tower Defense (TD) that mixes the genres in a dress way is successful. Firstly, it is RTS with a top down view including the purchase, improvement and placement of the turrets and also offering the supervision of the action on the map. It is also since this view that some turrets, which do not work independently, must be activated. Then comes the action shooting part in the first person where one takes direct control of the different turrets. They are all (with some exceptions, as mentioned above) automated but with a seat dedicated to the commanders that one embodies, which operates independently. Finally, comes the RPG part which includes loot in the form of crates released by destroyed vehicles that must be picked up manually by pulling it to allow customization of the commanders. These can be improvements for attacks or even game mechanics like morale. For the graphics, the game uses a "cell-shading" style. In General, I am not a fan but the latter is rather nice. The shoot phases are nerve and also require a little technique because one can notably "sniper" some weaknesses that the different types of enemies have to cause more damage or handicap the displacement of the latter. In higher difficulty, it is necessary to move quickly from the top view to take control of the turrets to prevent enemies from reaching their destination point. In terms of the negative aspects, the interface of the game is not neat and is even confusing, especially on the screen of customization of commanders. This is not a flaw since the game is still in early access but it still lacks a part of the companion as well as endless mode but the devs have to ensure that it will happen so no worries. In General, I do not take the time to write a review but here we have a sympathetic indie game that deserves to be noted in good and due form. That's! =)
