Shadow Harvest – Phantom Ops-Win7 (64) Plot (2 out of 5 Points): Shadow Harvest – Phantom Ops wants to be more than a First-person shooter and therefore tries to combine Shooter, Tactics and stealth action. Unfortunately, this can only be done to a limited extent, so that there is something about everyone, but none comes to bear properly. In this Game they usually take on the Role of Aron, the 0815 soldier as well as the good-looking Myra, a Spy who is henceforth responsible for the stealth action. Often both have to work together at designated Points of the Game, so that Myra, for example, Opens a Door through which Aron can pass. Unfortunately, however, this promotes the "We" feeling relatively little in the Game. Graphic (3 out of 5 Points): The Graphics are okay without getting to Highlights of today. Occasionally, the sometimes exaggerated Bloom effects interfere more than that they look good. Shadow Harvest'S various Locations all offer Variety. So it goes from Mogadishu to Dubai to Cuba. The Interior Levels, on the other hand, all seem Carved out of a repetitive Kit, so that although there are Differences from Scene to Scene, they do not stand out much within a Level. Sound effect/music (2 out of 5 Points): The Sound, the Effects and Background Music are all standard and unfortunately no Highlights. They certainly fit the Setting and the respective Game Situation, but they are all interchangeable. KI/Opponent properties (2 out of 5 Points): There are no Highlights to report in this Section either. The AI is Standard, seeks Cover and shoots to a very accurate point of course. Unfortunately, the Cover System for your own Character is annoying rather than innovative. Unless you march towards them at a 90 ° Angle, it unfortunately only works to a limited extent to not at all. Solving from Cover is also often a Game Of Patience, as you have to take a Step back, which often means a Hit you collect. To look around the Cover unfortunately often results in the Fact that one completely walks away from the Cover and thus (unintentionally) appears again in the shot area of the Opponents. Even one's own Goals is often not so simple, because the Control seems quite hairy at many Points. Scope (3 out of 5 Points): The Scope of the Game goes fine. The Locations are all varied. As a Soldier, you have the usual standard repertoir of Weapons. The Innovations for Myra (stealth suit, stealth syringes for Opponents, etc.) are quite nice, although partly already seen in other Titles. Game error: With the current Steam patches running without any Problems. My Conclusion (3 Stars, 12 out of 25 Points): Shadow Harvest is a double-edged Sword for me. On the one Hand, it tries to unite a lot of different Genres and tries to do a lot of things, but somehow everything doesn't get mature enough. However, it has a lot of cool Ideas and Approaches that annoy You. Even the memory Points, which are often very far apart and the frustrating Cover system in places, do not contribute to The Fun Of the game. As mentioned in other Reviews, the Start from the Dubai level was one Thing you had to try to find the right way. Of course, there were also the Moments when it was Fun, but somehow ... You've seen it all before or played better in other Games. It is not just a real Shooter, nor is it particularly tactical Skill in demand and it is definitely not enough for the pure stealth action hit due to playful and technical Weaknesses. From the Plot it is okay, finally has a 180 ° Turn with it, but otherwise resembles standard works. Can I recommend it? Rather not! For those who have Patience, don't let hairy control spoil the Fun and don't judge too hard here and there, it might be worth a Look. I wouldn't buy it again, even if Myra cuts a pretty good Figure:)
