Shardlight
About
The world ended on the day the bombs fell. Since then, it’s always been like this: disease, hunger, death. The ruling Aristocrats — a faceless oligarchy that controls all resources — have unchallenged authority. There’s never enough food, water, or vaccine to go around. The rich receive regular doses of vaccinations in exchange for their unconditional government support. The poor live in fear, superstition, and squalor until they die.
Amy Wellard, a young woman reluctantly working for the government to qualify for the vaccine lottery, believes there’s a cure — and she’s going to find it. Even if it costs her her life.

So far the best Artwork of Wadjet Eye Games: In detail and beautifully animated (especially the People); However, I still do not like the low Resolution personally.
The Narrative Style as well as the Content are outstanding again in this Game (for a Computer Game), but in my Opinion do not arrive at the Blackwell narrative masterpiece. The Characters and Conflicts in the Blackwell series I find-despite (or because of?) the Ghost theme much more comprehensible. Here we are dealing with an all too good and flawless Girl, who is only missing If I force players to make the "wrong" decision in the End.
I find the Choice and Elaboration of the Sexes particularly successful: A Protagonist who, of course, hits with her Crossbow and who saves the World of her own Accord. The strong and charismatic Rebel Leader brand "The End justifies the Means," which also keeps two Men at Bay at the same time as their Degen. The thoroughly good Doctor, but who has to accept Colateral Damage in these difficult Times. And evil Evil-well, you can't always hit the Mark.
All in all, good Adult Entertainment without particular Depth but with successful Gender Roles.

Shardlight As before, WadjetEyeGames stands around Dave and Janet Gilbert as a Guarantor for ingenious retro adventures with beautiful pixel art and highly professional (English) speakers.
Shardlight is set in a postapocalyptic big City, believed to be in the US, 21 Years after the Bombs fell. The Population is sealing away and suffering above all from the incurable Disease "green lung." There is a Counter-but no Cure, without the monthly Dose, everyone who has a green lung dies at some point. The perverse: The Antidote is extremely scarce and actually it can only afford the "Aristocracy," that is, the Upper Class.
The Protagonist (and many others too) therefore clings to the final Straw: "lottery jobs." You get into the Lostopf for ONE Dose when you carry out Orders for the Aristocrats. In our Case, these are dangerous Maintenance Orders in Power Plants or Reactors, as our Protagonist is a Mechanic. In this Very Reactor, one encounters one in the dying Man at the very Beginning, who pleads with us to deliver a Letter to a certain Person. This "Danton," however, is nowhere to be found, as it leads the Underground that goes against the Aristocracy. It develops a really very good and exciting Story around more lottery Jobs, Espionage, Infiltration, loyalty, friendship, Near-death experiences, a Death cult, the Reaper personally and in the End around the Overthrow of the Aristocracy and the Attempt at a New Beginning.
With 12h Game time really very good Length, with the End almost a bit too easy to come to me/passing too quickly.
I can fully recommend it to any adventure fan.
"Only" 9/10, because the End (there are three possible ends) came so suddenly and you can't skip the Credits when you've seen the second End and want to see the Third thing quickly as well.
I had to look closely at the Complete Solution, why do I not know anymore.
