About

Have you ever wanted to be a samurai? On this beautiful archipelago high in the clouds, you can make your dreams come true.

You will follow the instructions of Delios-Sensei, your only friend out there. He will teach you how to progress in the warrior's way and explore the secrets of Zen.
Archery, Katana moves, throwing arts and many other practices await you. And if you need rest, take a stroll around the islands to enjoy panoramas in front of a beautiful sunset.

With fair scoring mechanics, and arcade style gameplay, it's a perfect game to have fun in your house parties.

Sky Sanctuary is not a limited experience, there is fun beyond game modes. Test weapons, multiple interactions are directly designed to let you play the way you want without any rules. This is the good thing about VR.

Features
  • Master the way of samurai: Bow, katana, shaken, smoke bomb, flame thrower and way more weapons to come
  • Freely explore a stunning environment: You're not stuck in one place with your weapons. You can move all around the islands and enjoy beautiful panoramas.
  • Make a new friend: You're not alone. Delios your kawaii robot companion will train you and guide you through your journey.
  • Be ready for new content: We have crafted 4 main islands with care, love and scalability in mind. Thus, we will easily connect new ones for upcoming amazing activities (soon tm).
  • Spam the bull's eye: Bend your bow and discover Kyudo (japanese archery). With 3 Game Modes available (Precision, Dynamic, Skeet), become the real #RobinHoodSama
  • Cut tatami rolls in a frenetic race: Draw your katana in several difficulty modes. As a Tameshigiri master, seek for the perfect moves.
  • Get the best out of your HTC Vive: Don't be shy, move your body. Sky Sanctuary is especially designed for your device and its motion tracking system.
  • Beat the highscores: Compete with your friends all around the world in leaderboards. Become a legend.
General noticeSky Sanctuary is not meant to be played seated. Expect from this game to be physically engaged. You'll have to reproduce real moves from sport activities like archery or martial arts. As you'll have to move your body a lot, especially your arms, make sure that you have a clear play space (minimum 2m x 1.5m). Stay far enough from your screen and your friends. It would be sad to hurt anyone :).
And like in a real physical activity: don't forget to breath and take a break! (and drink gallons of water dammit!)

Sky Sanctuary reviews and comments

Early Access Review French Indie Developer Glitchr Studio Today released its first VR title for HTC Vive on Steam in Early Access. The Player takes on the Role of a Samurai and can train his Skills in Handling traditional Japanese Weapons at various Stations and compete with other Players via a Leaderboard. Various Weapons are Available. From The Katana, Litter star, Arrow and Bow, via Smoke Bombs and stylish mini flamethrower. Gameplay In Sky Sanctuary, you can sit on an Island suspended above the Clouds, which is home to a huge Japanese Dojo. The Locomotion is via Teleportation. A small flying Robot, reminiscent of the one from Robinson: The Journey, keeps giving us Tips and explaining the Game to us. The very pretty And created with Attention to Detail basically serves as a Kind of huge Lobby from which we make our way to the individual Game stations, or use the Environment to test our Weapons on a whim. The Fireworks, which are mounted all over the Floor, invite you to light up and linger. For the Early Access Release, Sky Sanctuary offers a sufficient Package of Games and Weapons. So we can compete with other Players in Archery and Swordfighting via a Leader board. More competition modes and Weapons are to follow over the course of the EA phase. The Path of The Samurai In The Sword fight There is currently only one Game mode in which we can choose between 3 Difficulty levels. There, if possible without any False Attempts, we have to cut Bamboo Mats with the virtual Katana as precisely as possible. It strikes us that Glitchr managed to transfer the Feeling of the Katana to the Controller almost 1:1. There have been many Ninja, Samurai, Swordfighting games on the Vive. At Sky Sanctuary, though, the Gun Feeling is best to date. And that's not just true of the Katana. Archery Is a bit more complex. There are 4 different Game Modes in which we can compete with other Players. The Arrows are pulled from the virtual Quiver on the Back of the Player. In Precision Mode, we have only 12 Arrows At our disposal and we have to aim as precisely as possible to hit the Middle of the Target. Time does not matter, but the Target moves away after 3 Arrows each. In Dynamics Fashion we can fry arrows to our Heart's Content, only time should we pay attention to. As many points as possible must be earned in 60 Seconds. The Middle gives 100 Points. But Beware: The Targets are carried by small Robots, which fold them down after a short Time. Here, precision and Speed are required. The Favorite Mode of all Animal rights Activists is The Skeet Mode. Here we have to shoot at "living" Hens. When Three Animals have reached the Ground unscathed, the Spectacle is over. We lost and have to go to Bed hungry. Last but not least: The Triathlon Fashion. All 3 Modes are played in a row here. The best Shooter climbs up the High Score and is allowed to be celebrated. Including Fireworks! Even though Sky Sanctuary is still in Early Access, it's already a Lot of Fun to walk around the Island, try things out and compete in the Modi competition with Players from all Over the world. You can only guess what's to come in the Future, but Glitchr Studios definitely deserves to be rewarded for their Attention to Detail. In our Gameplay Video, you can get an Overview of the Game and its scope. The Game costs £12.99million on Steam And is only available for HTC Vive.
