Early Access Review French Indie Developer Glitchr Studio Today released its first VR title for HTC Vive on Steam in Early Access. The Player takes on the Role of a Samurai and can train his Skills in Handling traditional Japanese Weapons at various Stations and compete with other Players via a Leaderboard. Various Weapons are Available. From The Katana, Litter star, Arrow and Bow, via Smoke Bombs and stylish mini flamethrower. Gameplay In Sky Sanctuary, you can sit on an Island suspended above the Clouds, which is home to a huge Japanese Dojo. The Locomotion is via Teleportation. A small flying Robot, reminiscent of the one from Robinson: The Journey, keeps giving us Tips and explaining the Game to us. The very pretty And created with Attention to Detail basically serves as a Kind of huge Lobby from which we make our way to the individual Game stations, or use the Environment to test our Weapons on a whim. The Fireworks, which are mounted all over the Floor, invite you to light up and linger. For the Early Access Release, Sky Sanctuary offers a sufficient Package of Games and Weapons. So we can compete with other Players in Archery and Swordfighting via a Leader board. More competition modes and Weapons are to follow over the course of the EA phase. The Path of The Samurai In The Sword fight There is currently only one Game mode in which we can choose between 3 Difficulty levels. There, if possible without any False Attempts, we have to cut Bamboo Mats with the virtual Katana as precisely as possible. It strikes us that Glitchr managed to transfer the Feeling of the Katana to the Controller almost 1:1. There have been many Ninja, Samurai, Swordfighting games on the Vive. At Sky Sanctuary, though, the Gun Feeling is best to date. And that's not just true of the Katana. Archery Is a bit more complex. There are 4 different Game Modes in which we can compete with other Players. The Arrows are pulled from the virtual Quiver on the Back of the Player. In Precision Mode, we have only 12 Arrows At our disposal and we have to aim as precisely as possible to hit the Middle of the Target. Time does not matter, but the Target moves away after 3 Arrows each. In Dynamics Fashion we can fry arrows to our Heart's Content, only time should we pay attention to. As many points as possible must be earned in 60 Seconds. The Middle gives 100 Points. But Beware: The Targets are carried by small Robots, which fold them down after a short Time. Here, precision and Speed are required. The Favorite Mode of all Animal rights Activists is The Skeet Mode. Here we have to shoot at "living" Hens. When Three Animals have reached the Ground unscathed, the Spectacle is over. We lost and have to go to Bed hungry. Last but not least: The Triathlon Fashion. All 3 Modes are played in a row here. The best Shooter climbs up the High Score and is allowed to be celebrated. Including Fireworks! Even though Sky Sanctuary is still in Early Access, it's already a Lot of Fun to walk around the Island, try things out and compete in the Modi competition with Players from all Over the world. You can only guess what's to come in the Future, but Glitchr Studios definitely deserves to be rewarded for their Attention to Detail. In our Gameplay Video, you can get an Overview of the Game and its scope. The Game costs £12.99million on Steam And is only available for HTC Vive.
