In SkyBoats you fly around picking up different goods to sell to cities. The goods also give you the ability to control the winds! Different goods have different wind shapes. When you play a wind the board will now have those wind spaces, and other boats can move into them to sail along the wind. When you sail on the wind your boats gain more prowess and will be able to sell their goods for more Glory! Each wind pattern can also be flipped, allowing you to go the opposite directions. These magical winds also generate goods allowing you to control production. On a turn each of your SkyBoats can use each of its cargo spaces once. Empty cargo spaces can be used to gain fuel. When you fly over goods, you will have the opportunity to pick them up, and place them into your cargo. You must meet enough SkyCity demands before time runs out!
SkyBoats is the third game by BrainGoodGames and continues in the tradition of video gaming inspired by board games. Previous to SkyBoats, BrainGoodGames released Militia (Dec. 2015) and Axes and Acres (Apr. 2016). SkyBoats mixes classic Euro Board Game mechanics with our own unique wind mechanic to create another deeply strategic single-player strategy game.

Product received for free Ahoy! Captain SkyBoat! It's Time to make a couple of risky steps against the wind have You ever heard such a term as "table games of German style"? I, frankly, have not heard, but have encountered similar in real life once. Usually It is not a mass cardboard crafts with tasteless plastic cones of different colors, and real author's works. High-Quality drawing and design. And The main thing is simple rules. There are only a few conditions that explain specific game mechanics and there are almost no restrictions. So This genre has found itself in the world of video games.
Thanks for this is worth telling the developers of BrainGoodGames. This time they created Skyboats. This is the third game in a similar genre after Militia and Axes and Acres. The Rules of the game and the essence are exactly the same as the "board games of German style". Before us the field with hexagons. Each such "Hexagon" is one step to the goal. To move faster It is necessary to use gifts of a wind. Under The gifts I mean food and jewels that conceal the incredible power of the wind.
To Understand how this works, here is a more detailed explanation. We manage aircraft that resemble ships from Final Fantasy IX, each ship has several bins in the cargo bay and several fuel cells for the engine. In Other words, one is responsible for how much good we can take with us, and the other-how many actions to do before we have to finish the move. In Order not to waste precious fuel in small pieces between cells, we can use special abilities in cells, as well as products that are randomly scattered across the field. If We select them, we see a certain scheme of wind, which can be like graffiti placed on the cages and move already on more interesting trajectories.
It is Necessary to pay tribute to the studio, which clearly knows a lot about tactics and strategy, but it is only two independent developers. The Game though reminds predecessors, but only an idea, the rules are invented for each new game in a new way. In SkyBoats We need to deliver a certain cargo to the cities with the help of flying ships. When you hover over the city, we see the task. When we arrive at the destination, we can take a new contract on the spot, pump the ship or scout the map. We have a limit on the walkers and the target. With the help of simple machinations on the map to accumulate the necessary number of points. If you want to spend the evening in deep thoughts alone with yourself, SkyBoats is a great choice.
But where there are pluses, there are disadvantages. For me, SkyBoats was too heavy a test. I spent an hour and a half in pathetic attempts to score the right amount of points, but everything was in vain. Perhaps, I did not try to throw brains and show patience, but even after a profitable course of study, I remained in the same status as a loser, which is not able to advance above one or two levels.
In terms of brevity, everything is on the ointment, but the eyes want to see something more visually cute. The graphics are responsible For some Tomasz Bigosiński and his work in the portfolio is really great, but in the game it is poorly watched. Honestly, I have the interface and graphics in general reminded the collection of games for the office on the disk with the PostScript 99 in 1. But The musical accompaniment turned out to be quite remarkable, for him answered Julian Beutel.
https://youtu.be/Gv51oCPjXmI SkyBoats will obviously have to taste the veterans of "board games of German style", it is easy to learn and deep in essence. It requires concentration and patience, which is so lacking in society. It's not some meditative turkey, SkyBoats is a test.
