We as people need to be both more honest and skilled in handling the truth.
The game is what it is because I try to be brutally honest with myself about it.
They are a bit more rigid than you'd think though...
To explore this world you'll need skill!
Real treasures are hidden behind wall of skilled jumps, hangs and power combinations!
My aim is to make all aspects of the game intuitive, so you would get enough information from the game, 'organically', to get to understand not just the game world, but controls themselves.
That said, everything below are technically spoilers!
I suggest trying to play the game before reading and rate how successfully I've made the game intuitive.
CONTROLS: swipe with mouse + A, S and D for powers (when you get them)
Here I present to you ~2 months of work on a game that pretty much makes itself.
There are 2 levels that are not complete - 'Forest' and 'Roots', and a lot of not-yet-implemented features. Here are the implemented ones tho:
- Swipe to jump, get close to edges to hang from them, jump upward from edges and use the jiggle from hanging back on the edge to boost your next jump. There's about .5s delay after releasing the swipe where the game checks if you jumped so it queues your jump so you can release swipe just before hitting the floor and the slime will jump as soon as it hits the ground
- Arrow that is shown when swiping counts as health and stamina bar. Arrow head and each circle shown in the arrow represent gems. Each gem is 1HP and 2SP (each jump and power uses SP).
- Combine same and different powers mid air to get interesting results
