SMOK: Legend of the Laid-Back Heroes

NOTE: This is a fan-made game created in accordance to Cover Corp's Fan-Work Guidelines.

Offline Version (Recommended)

Offline version of the game is also available to download. It tends to run smoother than the browser version above since everything is already downloaded. Scroll to the bottom of the page to download. Note that you can always transfer your save data between the two versions (see Save Data Transfer below).

Intro

To prevent the awakening of the Demon Lord, the MC accompanied by these four embarked on a very absurd adventure.

• The very reason why the party is so laid-back

• Menacin... no, I mean to say she's cute! And I'm totally not forced to say that!
• Occupation: Berserker

MC

• Weak
• Occupation: Villager

Game Length

Approximately 6 ~ 7 hours

Gameplay

This is a story-driven game. The battles are easy so there is no need to level-grind.

System Requirements

• Playing the game with a smartphone is untested and not recommended. Please use a PC/laptop instead.
• If you are running on the browser, please ensure that your browser is up-to-date. Otherwise, the game will fail to run with an error.
  • Internet Explorer is not supported.
• Please ensure that your graphics card driver is up-to-date. This is especially important if your computer is > 5 years old.
• The game is not very demanding in terms of computer specs. Can it run on a potato PC? I don't know. Every potato is different. Try it out and see! The game is free anyway :)

Controls

While it is possible to control with a mouse, the keyboard is recommended.

• Arrow keys: Move
• Z/Space key: Confirm/Investigate
• X/Esc: Cancel
• Shift: Run

Save Data Transfer

To transfer save data from the browser version to the download version:

1. Go to the main title/menu of the browser version
2. Select "Load Game" and load the save data you would like to transfer
3. Press Ctrl + S (or ⌘ + S on Mac OS)
4. The save data should now be downloaded
5. Launch the download version of the game (i.e. run Game.exe or Game.app)
6. In the main title/menu, drag and drop the save data into the game window
7. The game should now load the save data
8. Save the game to permanently save the transferred save data

To transfer save data from the download version to the browser version:

1. While in the download version of the game, save the game and keep a mental note of the save slot number (1 to 19).
2. On Windows, find the save folder in the game folder. On Mac OS, right click Game.app and select "Show Package Contents" and find the save folder.
3. In the save folder, you will find file0.rmmzsave, file1.rmmzsave, etc. These are save data. Find the one that corresponds to save slot number from earlier. For example, if you save at slot 8, you should find file8.rmmzsave.
4. Launch the browser version of the game
5. In the main title/menu, drag and drop the save data described in step 3 into the game window
   
6. The game should now load the save data
   
7. Save the game to permanently save the transferred save data

Software Bugs

This game took over 10 months to make, so there are likely mistakes that I did not catch. Please reach out to me directly at [email protected] if you discover any typos or bugs.
