SoulBond (Daniel Orozco)
About
"Soul Bond" a top-down action game originally made for the 2019 Summer Unreal Engine Jam. The theme is Make it Count.
In Soul Bond, you are in control of a pair of souls that luckily got a second chance and are now trapped inside a stone statue.
You can switch between both character's abilities: A sword and a Crossbow.
With the sword, you are able to kill the enemies. With the crossbow, you can stun them.
When you are hit by an enemy, the Soul not controlled gets pushed out of the stone body, causing the remaining soul to loose control over it, thus, you enter "Berserk Mode" for a few seconds, once it ends, the Stone Body explodes.
Berserk Mode's effect changes depending on the weapon (remaining soul". If you were using the sword, the character starts rotating the sword quickly; killing the enemies around forever (they do not respawn). When using crossbow, your character moves faster and the enemies slower; and when the body explodes, a magical block appears in that place.
The game is about second chances, with those trapped souls and Berserk Mode. Plan your every movement and Make Them Count.
