About

When redheaded thrill-seeker Adol Christin and his eternal blue-haired companion Dogi make an unannounced visit to Dogi's homeland of Felghana after an eight-year absence, it quickly becomes apparent that things have changed dramatically. Hordes of violent monsters roam the outskirts of town, a long-dormant volcano has suddenly sprung back to life and the new lord of the land has begun mercilessly and inexplicably extorting money from its long-suffering citizens. While Dogi seeks out his former combat master for answers, Adol tends to the townsfolk -- and finds himself embroiled in a world of political conspiracies, ancient legacies and unthinkable taboos.
A complete 3D reimagining of the 16-bit console classic "Ys III: Wanderers From Ys," Ys: The Oath in Felghana is a fast-paced action role-playing game with tight controls, Metroidvania-style exploration elements, intense combat with epic screen-filling boss battles, and a thrashing, percussive arranged soundtrack that's been heralded by many as one of the best of all time. Ys: The Oath in Felghana reviews and comments

Very nice game, the gameplay is fast and nervous. I was finally able to avenge all these games where the monsters eject you and barely you recovered that they walk you again on the other side of the room, in this game it is the opposite. The difficulty is quite well managed, in general we die because we have crashed or we wanted to do too much. The bosses are very interesting in their gameplay and tend to radically change from one to the other (good is a common place, but it is always appreciable). The music is top and accompanies the player well and the mood of the levels.

One of the best YS on PC with origins, we always find a soundtrack to the top (the music of "Valestein Castle" is huge). The combat system is that of a dynamic beat'em all with various possible strokes that varies especially depending on whether one jumps or not and with 3 different magic that one will change according to the enemies. We have a "Metroid-Vania" system or you will have to unlock powers to access various places and revisit other places to discover some secret passages. We also have some phases of platforms that remain rather accessible except in some places where it is difficult to see the depth (z-axis). Note that there are several choices of difficulties which is appreciable in this kind of game. As in all YS there will always be a bit of grind to each new zone but this one is not too restrictive, 20min per zone in General, with the music and the dynamism of the fights its not at all boring. You also have to think about upgrading your equipment as soon as possible to limit damage and to get more quickly out of enemies. There is no need to have done the previous games, each one being independent from each other except YS 1 and 2. There are sometimes some winks to other games but nothing important. Note that the games are only in English but only requires an average level. Positive points:-music that is always so relevant. -Dynamic battles based on 3 different magic. -Various boss fights and asking for a little strategy and a lot of reflexes. -A classic but effective scenario with endeant personanges. Neutral:-lifespan a little short, 8h. But the game has almost no time dead that its not very serious. -The grind although light (20-30min per zone) is almost necessary for each new area under pain of dying quickly. Negative points:-the area of the mountain a little painful, quite labyrinthine and with monsters pretty boring at first. -A few phases of painful jumps. -Buttons on the Xbox one controller not recognized to reconfigure, obliged to go through software.
