Splasher is the latest project from Romain Claude, former Game Designer and Level Designer at Ubisoft (Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends). He gathered a small, talented team, including Richard Vatinel a.k.a Gromy, Art Director, and Aymeric Schwartz, composer and sound designer (Absolver, Rayman Origins or Valiant Hearts), to create Splasher. The game was also developed in partnership with famous speedrunners.

Splasher reviews and comments

Splasher ▸ writes Splasher is a nervous and dynamic platformer developed by Splashteam. As strange as it may seem, it's their only game at the moment... After all there is no connection between the name of the developer and the name of the game. It's no less than 7am that you will set to finish the story mode of Splasher so tempted that we can call it "a story mode". It's more of a tangle of levels in order to put a completely insane scientist in jail. Yeah so in the image of Super meat boy, the game starts because you have to run after someone in the end. Finally, it's not bad and after all when you buy this kind of game, we look more the dynamism and fluidity of the gameplay than anything else. Fortunately, that is the case. Splasher is extremely dynamic and fluid. As for mechanics, they are easy to understand. On the other hand, in terms of apprehension it's different! That said, I do not recommend playing this game on the keyboard. Especially knowing that on the joystick it is overly instinctive. As for the graphical paw of Splasher, and well as far as I'm concerned, I find it pretty and Nice. I find that these simple air designs add a cool shot to the title and that's so much better. Splasher is, in my opinion, not frustrating but some passages require some mastery. And I'm not even talking about the Chrono; speedruns what. I recommend Splasher, it's a very nice game and the platformer enthusiasts will find them potentially the same charms as me. You can follow the page curator here: sacrez'art.

Splasher is the unlikely mix between Super meat boy and Portal 2 fluids. A button, a fluid, a color, an effect. The game is cute, the progression well dosed with a difficulty enough not to discourage the first player came. The game is readable, pleasing to the eye and the gameplay responds perfectly. In a straight line without trying to recover the characters scattered in the levels, I would say it takes 6 hours to finish it. And one to two hours more if not. In addition, the game is clearly thought to allow the speedrun, the lifespan can become monstrous. Knowing that developers have planned two types of speedrun and a fashion catch them all. Something to satisfy his thirst for Splasher. So what are the flaws of this plateformer that looks very successful? First of all, the maneuverability although successful is quite disturbing since the direction of the shot is on the left stick, which can be very disturbing even in certain situations that require precision. Then the game clearly lacks madness in its levels. It is monotonous (justified by the fact that one is in a factory), even if there are some ideas (the train much too short). Personally, it lacks a few passages that push the delirium of the game. Because fighting a doctor Maboul who uses potatoes as cannon fodder deserves a detour. Finally, there is a very mechanical side that gets in place when we go through the levels. It may be me, but I have the impression that the game never really tries to get out of its comfort zone and even less to seek to surprise the player. In summary, it is an effective platform game that has mastered gameplay despite passages that show the limits (few). It's cute, perfectly calibrated for the speedrun. Too bad it is too much agreed, which prevents it from gaining access to a higher level. A good game, a good time without being memorable. P.S.: the hub that requires using fluids to reach the next levels is a very good idea without being heavy.
